The Zishan dsd's corner

Just found out there is a new D200 coming out in a few weeks called D200+, it will have balanced amp output (3.5mm TRRS) and native dsd as well. It will only cost $20 more. It's fully balanced topology from dac output through to amp and vol pot, should sound pretty darn nice:

Below D200+ on the left and D200 V4 on the right. Basically the D200+ needs double the output opamps, double the output transistors, double the output capacitors, and double size volume pot (balanced), to achieve the balanced output.

And as you can see there is always trade-offs inside every dap, there is only so much you can do with a limited space, by needing 4x capacitors they have had to use smaller ones than original D200 as well as no longer able to change the LPF opamps, stuck with OPA2134 which is pretty good but not awesome.
As a result, listening in single ended would actually sound better on the D200 V4. But I'm pretty tempted to get the D200+ for Class A Balanced

The only other dap with Class A Balanced is Pono, another great dap I happen to own.

Can you change the two OPA 2134P for two MUSES 02?

Which of the two players sounds more detailed and body ?, the Zishan or the D200 ?,

Even though the D200 does not have EQ sounds better than the Zishan?
Hello.
Please to everybody interested:
When you ask about D200 or Zishan DAD please specify the exact version
D200, d200 v4, d200+ or d200+ ak4497
Zishan DAD has many upgrade variants up to version 11.
All versions of this two great players sounds great but VERY different in levels and costs quite different.
Otherwise your questions and our answers are REALLY useless.

Hi folks,
Is there any vendor on ebay or ali selling the upgraded version of zishan dsd with knob(ak95)?
How is the build quality on modded ones? As I heard the stock build is really on par with major chineese brands, while mods - not so much.

If you search for "Hifi Fever DSD" in ebay, you could see plenty of listing for Zishan DSD with AK4495SEQ.
On Aliexpress, I know CKLewis store sells them and I got mine from him. Very good experience buying from them.

finally i could manage to replace those stock re3 caps with audio notes;

no more coldness or brightness, more neutral presentation with slightly thicker and natural notes while resolution increased..
but need to burn in at least 150-200 hours for final thoughts..

btw i'm using intersil ISL28227 as lpf which gives me most natural sound among others (opa2604, opa2107, lm49720 etc).

Does Lewis have modded versions too? How long do you have yours? Any issues? I have wav and flac library(16&24bit, some .cue), should I have any issues? How is the bass on stock version? Punch is present?

I am not sure if he sells modded versions. You could contact him via Aliexpress. I find him to be very reliable and communication was great as well. I have the volume pot -less version of the player with AK4490 DAC chip. My music collection primarily consists of 16 bit WAV/ 320 mp3 and have not encountered any issues so far. It has a great EQ system where it accepts cfg file in rockbox format. If you want to tweak the sound according to your liking, it's doable.

Can someone with 95-version(one with volume pot) share an opinion on how is the bass presentation? Is it traditional AK( not very punchy, with more mass than speed) or more like a focused punch (like many CS based daps have)?

Swapped out the overly smooth syrupy 2604 opamp for a JRC 4580DD. This'll be staying for a while just gorgeous all around so far
Testing with the highly revealing JVC/Victor Studios HA-MX100-Z.

Was going to mess with replacing those 2 caps but only had 470uf's that were too large in size.
I really wanted to throw some Elna Cerafine in that spot but no such luck.
With this 4580DD opamp in the LPF socket there is no need to do so it has kept somewhat of the Elna RE3 signature or whatever they are stock, but dealt perfectly with their edginess.

=Unit here is the stock one but with the15V board/mod option.

***endia your picture there how are you managing to use that adapter board opamp? Is the height a little less than normal?
Does it not bottom out on the top board ?
I might see about replacing some pins on a couple adapter boarded opamps i have here to reduce the height. Maybe.
