I think a good approach would be a comparison between factory new IEMs and „burned in“ IEMs. Both with the same brandnew tips and without any visible signs of usage. Of course the person who compares A/B many times and sometimes 2x or 5x the same, doesn’t know which one is currently in use.How exactly will you measure timbre, instrument separation, soundstage depth, width, height, PRaT, micro and macro dynamics, et cetera? We're open to your suggestions.

If the person has a match rate that is much higher better than a trained monkey would randomly push the right button, there might be actually burn-in.
Not really involving measuring devices though.
