Question to all Z1R owners or ex-owners

What is, in your opinion, the best cable to pair with?

I've used a Lavricables Ultimate awg24 Silver and a OC Studio OCAuX 4 wire silver gold plated with the Z1R some years ago.

Both were good and very comfortable but now I plan to buy a Z1R again and was wondering what type of cable you're using with the Z1R. Not sure silver and gold plated silver are the best for the 1ZR. ony Kimber Kable which are advertise as an upgrade to the 1ZR default cable are cooper if I'm not wrong.

I'll pair them with a WM1ZM2.

I don't claim to be the best, but there is definitely a good inexpensive copper one - DHC Complement C. Or DHC Clone Silver, if you are satisfied with a slightly more expensive, but better and more neutral silver cable.
I don't want to say anything bad about Kimber, they traditionally make stock cables for Sony. So it's just a collaboration between the two companies. Instead, you can choose any other option.

That's a bold opinion, for sure. It's not my take at all, but I respect the difference of opinion. "I prefer x more than y" ≠ "y is inferior to x". I appreciate the advice, and I genuinely apologize if I offended you or anyone else.

It's the only high-end cable I'm aware of that has been directly cloned.

Definitely envious. I have exactly one high end cable not too dissimilar from the Eletech Aeneid, a pure silver with gold plating and palladium connectors and I'm considering selling it. Just not sure I appreciate the bump in quality as much as someone else here might.

I am very excited for this new Sony DAP. I did enjoy the 507, it was just a bit underpowered.

Haven’t tried the IEM cable but use the Grand for both my SolP and Elite and it made a substantial improvement to both.

I guess some of the tricks to achieve phenomenal bass especially in tiny devices such as IEMs are bound to have higher risk of driver flex. As long as it is not permanent, it should not much of a concern.

Kublai Khan doesn’t have any driver flex..
