Pause. One moment. Which gold brick? M1 or M2? Makes a difference as one is cheaper than the other.

You mean TOTL iems are becoming way too expensive? How dare they. Seriously having deja vu. I was talking with Bloom Audio today. I was literally going okay tell me what is so special about the Empire Ears Novus that they are worth the 5k price tag. You know it is an interesting market when the Annihilator becomes a good value for money in the TOTL market and it is around 3k.
Gold brick Mk2 is the one I have because I like to use streaming services but mk1 is also incredible But you need a personal music library or else it’s a no go … yeah the TOTL market is wild with the pricing! 3k is average/low pricing for totl nowadays 💀

What heavy hitters are going to be at the meeting?
All except the very latest TOTL IEMs that aren't widely available yet, no UM's million dollar IEMs, APX, Maestro, Erebus, Omnium, Ronin, nor Creator; most of these being too elusive to get without the help of a few dealers (who promised then didn't deliver so we couldn't make up for it last minute).

On the DAP side M9plus is missing, as is E7 which will most likely arrive at 2 of our friends' doorsteps just days after the meetup.

At this point I'd prefer to wait for the standard version to hit the secondary market at 900-1k rather than pay full price for a new one. I do appreciate what BA and EST drivers can bring in tandem with a DD and the occasional review saying the Singularity can be bloated has sort of pushed me away from a blind buy.
Unless you enjoy bright and energetic treble with lean and thin mid bass, you shouldn’t discount Singularity.

You reminded me of how I heard the Crimson

Prices are wild now on the top end but you do get some good value sets from time to time. Maybe more so these days. I'm looking at bass focused (without bleeding into everything else) options around the 1k mark which is a short list of few things. The Titan is what I'm trying to hold off for since I'm hoping it's truly as good a value as some indicate it will be. I wish I could try the Crimson too even if it's a BA set and kinda bright on the top end.
PM me. I have some options for you. I will offer to sell them if you prefer them.

@tjzurlaaa Can we get a shout out for the Oriolusa Szalayi? I think it might fit the bill.

Shame the dealers let you down, frustrating!
M9 + was one I wanted to hear as it seems to get quite a lot of love. Although everything I’ve read the sp3000 seems to be the right dap for for me.

Really looking forward to it now !! It takes a lot to organise these events and I really appreciate the effort that has gone into it.

M9+ is a good dap. AK SP3000 is a lovely dap. I think with DAPs it depends on what type of sound signature you like. I do not wish to over simplify but Sony tends to be musical but up in bass. AK SP3000 is more analog in presentation. I hope this helps.

Anyone have a 64 Audio Volur review? Trying to see if it strikes that balance of being incredibly good for a fair price.

i have a Sony Wm1am2 which is an excellent DAP but I prefer slightly more analytical sound, part of the reason I fell in love with the Utopia. On the Hugo 2 it’s a lovely combination which would be great if the SP3000 replicates it.

Agreed! I swapped the cable with a Tormenta Glacier EP silver and I love it even more!
And this is the moment that the water cooler convinced me to buy the duality.

I know. It makes it really hard to explain to people outside of the hobby where your money goes. They just stare at you blankly not understanding why you spend so much money.
Bass-focused around $1K sure sounds like the Singularity to me. 'Keen to try the Titan and Crimson at CanJam SG, only a couple more weeks now! :)
Depends on how much bass you want.

I’m actually really interested in this. I was excited for a more affordable cayin dap, but it has the bonus benefit of tubes
Got to admit the tube sound is really good. Has a feel and a vibe all its own.
Don't take your wallet with you to the meetup! Honestly, it's much safer to put it on a random street in Amsterdam and pick it up after the weekend.

drftr
Yup, if you put it on a random street corner a it will be safe. That way you will not spend thousands on iems.

If you're interested @Scuba Devils will be vlogging his whole weekend and it will be broadcasted on Irish tele due to the lack of any better content. I'm expecting weekly replays till his time has come.
