Enjoying using a smaller DAP as an every day carry!

Fiio FF3: The FF3 is an earbud that I've grown to like for casual listening. It fits well on me having more of an "iem like" fit than Mx500 with the shell sticking out. I think this has a part to do with its best feature: deep reaching pressurized bass. Its mids are not distant or forward. The tuning is mellow with smooth upper mids and rolled off treble. Transients are notably slower and less sharp than Serratus but that's also a part of the charm. I grab this if I want a non fatiguing, relaxing listen for something like Deep House.

Zx707 + FF3 pairing: A negative of 707 is its lower power making Totems bass sound slower and flatter vs Hiby R6 Pro2. 707 seems to drive FF3 fine however. I like the player shifting a bit of the low end emphasis to the mids making it sound fuller.

Zx707 + TGX case fitting my compact nyon Lululemon shoulder bag.
Love that carry bag Nate! I can almost feel the warmth radiating out from your photos, meanwhile down here it's 5 degrees outside and I'm wearing a scarf indoors.

Hi guys! :)

For those interested in Simphonio P0, I have a good news and a bad news!

The rep guy just told me it can now be purchased abroad through Linsoul!

IMG_2219.jpg

Here is the link:

https://www.linsoul.com/products/simphonio-p0

The bad news is that it’s $4899 USD!!!! :scream: (in China it’s $4000)

Suddenly I’ve never felt so happy with myself for spending $4000!!! 🤣

At that price it’s definitely going to refrain quite a few people’s GAS!

Looking on the bright side, it’s still significantly cheaper than Traillii!

For what it’s worth, if it can give any indication on how good I think they are, they (with a little push from The Boss (my wife) :D) made me sell the Traillii that I have had for almost 3 years! Not that they are very similar in tuning, Traillii has warmer mids and more laidback, but for me Traillii was also my “big soundstage” IEM. Since P0 exceeds Traillii on that aspect (and many others) I decided to let it go.
In the worst case I could still go for a Traillii Ti if I miss them too much!! Ehhh… No! Don’t tell my wife I said that, OK?! We’re all friends here! You wouldn’t do that to me, right?! :grinning:

Cheers and enjoy the music!

Julien.
After dealing with Simphonio after sale service for my VR1, I would be very cautious of it.

I rather wait for Madoo 821.

Of course the one time I don’t attach the IEMs before putting them in my bag I lose an earphone. Anyone have just the right side of a Maestro Mini? 🤕

They can sell you just the right side, they are hand made anyway, happened to me with my JVC and I ended up buying it at a cheap rate.

Ok... So i thought i was going to say goodbye to my Ovidius B1. For a couple of minutes, this proprietary cable was nowhere to be found! And i was already in devastated mode. Fortunately i found them near my laundry. I have no idea how they got there.

How bout u guys? What tiny trinket of your gears have you almost lost or even completely lost and never to be found again? Share your stories gentlemen!!! 😊😁😎

Can you remind us what the Bias score is based on? Thanks in advance :L3000:
I needed to add another score that reflects my own overall opinion on how an IEM is tuned to my preferences. For example, I think Subtonic Storm is the superior IEM to the FatFreq Grand Maestro, but I still prefer GM's tuning for my music tastes.

I hope it goes without saying that my ranking list is totally subjective to my tastes and shouldn't be treated as anything other than one opinion :) hopefully no one comes after me if I ranked something they enjoy too low

It has been a week since I have owned the Tsuranagi. Quite taken by it. Having lots of fun exploring how my transducers scale. I want to talk mainly about my user experience so far.

To Amp or not to Amp: I've always been a portable audio user. Sonically I prefer earphones / earbuds over headphones but furthermore, I don't like being restrained to my desktop. I love the idea that I can take my best gear with me anywhere I go. The SQ difference to me amped is pretty massive. However carrying an extra device restricts some of that mobility. The question is can I bake my cake and eat it too?

Tsuranagi battery life: Whats nice about the Tsuranagi is the battery can be charged (compared to Mass Kobo 475 which runs on battery) and lasts me up to 7 hours. A low key highlight is the 3 blue light indicators telling me how much battery life is left. This allows me to plan a charge ahead of time. There hasn't been a moment yet where I had to scramble for that last minute charge to get my audio fix after work.

User case: For the most part, I have been leaving the amp at home and taking just the dap solo. A few times I didn't want to compromise and took the stack with me. I would store it in the Eletech Luxe case and then use it like this:

Preparing for outside use

For quality of life improvements I purchased:

1. Vishnu Tsuranagi case: Self explanatory.

2. Van Nueys Majic Case: For sturdier stacking, safer usage with the padding.

Ojisan helped me source this from japan. Its a new Van Nuys case built for inserting both an amp + dap. I picked the strap with the hole so I can have the player inserted, playing while the iem cable pokes out.

3. Van Nueys belt bag: Not entirely necessary but an improvement over my Lululemon belt bag because this one has more pockets and better padding.

4. Van Nueys Storage box: This has a shoulder strap that I can add in.

It can open up like this and should have enough room for everything.

The idea is to house a cased Tsuranagi + Dap -> Majic case -> Storage box. Excited for these to arrive! :)

Is that a VE Sun Copper? If so, what do you think of it?

Congrats on the van nuys cases. They look great!

These are dope cases!! Traveling with a stack really is tricky. But if i have these cases, I wouldn't mind the slight compromise in mobility.

I can see a hiby r6 pro ii dap. Correct? 😉

Tsuranagi has been getting a lot of praises.. I don't have an amp for on the go, and I'm starting to think if i should "need" one. I have to put it in the "need" category for the boss (the wife) to give the graces. 😆😆
