I can also vouch for RU6 if you’re after an R2R sound, though knowing you had a gold bar (warm) prior, I think the latter is quite a bit better if I’m being honest.
You can also look at the M15 which is more v-shaped, more power than RU6 and more fun, but with more time with it you’ll discover its tonal flaws.
My personal favorite dongle remains the L&P W2 after buying 3 after it… it’s simply more resolving, dynamic and transparent than all the above. Its issue? It doesn’t have much bass weight and favors snappiness and speed - it definitely might leave you wanting some oomph knowing your preferences.
Lastly there’s the Dunu DTC500 which is outrageously underpriced but very rich, punchy and smooth. Sounds like a chord mojo
