Yup. The ears bleeding is addictive.

Before the ex800st, i thought single dynamics were beneath me. Now I'm a single dynamics head. If not for ex800st, i wouldn't have purchased the softears. That natural sound of the single dynamics is unmatched and addictive. Really puts you into the music.

I understand softears bass won't crush my skull, but I'm not a basshead. I am a little worried it might be too light in the bass for me though.

Maybe i can tape mod the vents on here too.

Supermoon’s 8-9k is quite peaky in this graph which means potential sibilance for my ears. Of course listening directly could be different, just saying by looking at this graph. I think IE600’s graph also has that 8k peak, that’s why I sold it.

I find the Supermoon uppermids too ethereal, if I am to put it nicely since this is a preference thing. I remember you share the same thoughts with the Viking (uppermids being too much) so the SM could be the same in this regard. It's really a shame because I enjoyed everything else about the SM, particularly the bass and imaging.

Perhaps the CM version is slightly different or maybe I just have more sensitive hearing in the upper regions.

To me that is the best match as it tightens up the bass and bring the mids/treble a bit more forward so it is not as L shaped as with stock. Imaging also improves dramatically.

I think most silver/gold-silver cables work well with the XE6 but of course try it first if you can. For example to me Centurion is a bit too energetic/bombastic, Chiron too thick, Iliad too V shaped for the XE6.

Of course if you really want bass you can go with Ode to Laura or PW FT, which is kind of extreme but really satisfying.
