Survey question: How many of the above 68 IEMs have you heard? 43 for me...so ~2/3 of them.
Same as @aaf evo - I’ve heard 33, and of those i’ve owned almost all of them 😅😬

Speaking of which, received a care package today from my good friend @hshock76

These are only with me temporarily but the Odin and Fourte were previously my own units, so it was nice to see and hear them once again. Also got a chance to try out the EVR MK2 for the first time :)

20 for me. I currently own 1 of them, and have previously owned about 5-6 of them at different points of time.

At a reasonable price of 449 usd, the iBasso DX170 came out to be the clear choice for what I was looking for, with a well thought-out design in overall aesthetics and form factor, its practicality, convenience of use and ergonomics in form and function, and its performance that’s not far behind the competition in current mid-fi dap offerings of today’s portable audio market.
DX170 is a solid choice, I bought it directly from Hifigo and it's got everything I need. Lightweight, sleek, usability, it's sonic profile, all just right.

In this hobby there seems to be an ideological divide between "Objectivists" viz a viz those who feel everything meaningful in an IEM's sound can be captured by measurements, and "Subjectivists" those who feel that the subjective consciousness from the listener can never be divorced from how and IEM or headphone will sound. I am reminded of the following quote by Emerson:

"As thinkers, mankind have ever divided into two sects, Materialists and Idealists; the first class founding on experience, the second on consciousness; the first class beginning to think from the data of the senses, the second class perceive that the senses are not final, and say, the senses give us representations of things, but what are the things themselves, they cannot tell. The materialist insists on facts, on history, on the force of circumstances, and the animal wants of man; the idealist on the power of Thought and of Will, on inspiration, on miracle, on individual culture. "

As for my own position...
