Listening to one of the latest very nice Putumayo release on Bandcamp while the sun is rising, pure bliss!
Interesting ..... but the problem is (from what I could see) that buying them, in the package there are all three sizes (S, M, L) and instead it is NOT possible to buy a package with ONLY one size. For example, I would ONLY need size L. But I am afraid of having understood that you cannot buy just one size. Did I read that right?Anyone tried these tips? Ordering some anyway, always on the hunt for more and these caught my attention... interesting design.

And how is the Diva itself? The Martini and Conti feel great. I’m really impressed with the Conti, it’s on the Diva demo I have and it is an awesome cable.

Good point, my library is naturally low on midbass-heavy, lower-mid-heavy material. I hardly ever listen to male vocal music, for example (no emotional connection there) and when I do, I find no flaw with Z1R. Which segways to the next point...Terrible is probably a little harsh. But spending extended time with the Xe6 has highlighted the Z1R's deficiencies to me here, at least in the mid bass and lower mids. My takeaway is that emotional connection can derive from different instruments, at different areas in the FR spectrum, so which IEM works for you will depend more on this than the IEM itself.
Very much so. Sony sources in particular have been designed and tuned with the Z1R as a basis. They're literally made to work together. If you want to hear Z1R at its best, WM1Z and TAZ is the way to go. That's not to say other sources won't work; RS6 is great with Z1R too, but lean 'reference' or bright sources are probably a poor match.I personally think Z1R’s mids are grossly underrated but I suspect that’s related to source matching. @hshock76 and I have been sharing notes on Z1R + 1ZM2 and we both agreed that the 1ZM2 fills out the midrange very well. DMP-Z1 did the same, but I personally prefer the M2 pair up because the mid-treble emphasis has been flattened and pushed more into the upper treble region on M2 compared to DMP.
Hopefully meet you at some point. Still in bed crying at this early startI’m at the train station with a large coffee in hand. Next stop, London Canjam
I got up at 6.45. That time in the morning is totally alien to me!Hopefully meet you at some point. Still in bed crying at this early start
I’m waiting for your diva impressions…Hopefully meet you at some point. Still in bed crying at this early start
Are you going to canjam?Hopefully meet you at some point. Still in bed crying at this early start
Yep. Helping out too. I'll be helping elise audio at the fir and linsoul stand when I can drag myself away from all the audio fun!Are you going to canjam?
Not really. In your own rankings, you have 13 IEMs ranked higher in the mids than the Z1R. And, it is tied with 11 others for 14th place which means they are actually tied for 25.. Nobody has ever said, I love the Z1R for its great mids.I personally think Z1R’s mids are grossly underrated but I suspect that’s related to source matching. @hshock76 and I have been sharing notes on Z1R + 1ZM2 and we both agreed that the 1ZM2 fills out the midrange very well. Cool I want to demo the XE6 so can you hide one away for meYep. Helping out too. I'll be helping elise audio at the fir and linsoul stand when I can drag myself away from all the audio fun!
It'll be there! For research purposes had a good session with it earlier in the week. Sadly it triggers my tinnitus a bit in the mid bass, otherwise my wallet would be in trouble...Cool I want to demo the XE6 so can you hide one away for me
I’m very worried about my wallet today! It'll be there! For research purposes had a good session with it earlier in the week. Sadly it triggers my tinnitus a bit in the mid bass, otherwise my wallet would be in trouble...
