Ehh, I don't think it would work for me, buddy -- it's like asking me to choose my favorite pants -- long pants, short pants or underpants!I mean vote the driver config based on your favorite iem ever heard or you prefer
That's only based on what we have come to know and experience from how DD and BA have so far been typically implemented. I have had long discussions with Lee/Elysian and Ken/Subtonic on this topic; most of what they say fly over my head anyway - - but the little I have learnt is there are endless variables at play here, the trade-offs, the choices of components -- some of which smaller houses could never hope to get due to their volume, how to optimally effect the cross-overs of the drivers, ad infinitum. I have always been a fan of DD bass too, but what that does to the lower mids, particularly on the separation, layering and resolution, is a challenge few have been able to tackle convincingly. Resort to tuning, and then you have to deal with a compromise on the upper mids. No end to what these guys face! So glad I am on the other side of the fence -- picking the cornucopia of fruits of their labor... I applaud all you under-appreciated IEM makers, if you're reading.Agree mate… it’s all about implementation. I think the only real impactful difference is between a really good DD and a really good BA. In this case, the characteristics of the DD may be the difference. But a really good BA can also be perfect for some.
That one is easy, come on -- it's obviously the guy behind the wheel on the way with your spanking new IEM!Anyway… hard to judge the best IEM driver
Here's two that I like a lot:
In other news, Aroma ordered today and should be here tomorrow.
