In general, I agree with you. But, UAPP with Tonebusters allows Parametric EQ which I cannot do with the native Tidal interface. I just tried to download Wavelet and it didn't work.

Yep, not much choice really is there. It's not bad, bad. When I really want to PEQ, I'm willing to use it.

Yeah, but Equalizer APO is fantastic and it's free. I would love to invest in a kickstarter to whoever own that source code to port the app to Android and IOS, but I think IOS might not allow systemwide EQ control to an App.

There's an app on android called Power Amp Equalizer that provides systemwide EQ that should work on your DAP if it is Android-based. I'm not sure of its functionality, but check it out and let us know!

Awesome. I just looked it up. It looks like an alternative to Wavelet as it also imports autoeq settings.

WHAT'S NEW

• new Parametric Equalizer Mode
• new Bands Overlap option
• presets now always have tone (Bass/Treble) stored in them
• knob values can be edited via long press
• preset sharing/import/export via long press in preset list
• AutoEQ preset importing
• bug fixes and stability improvements
• other new features and options - see in-app Changelog

I just downloaded it. It specifically says that YouTube and Tidal disallow equalization and they provide a hack to get around it. I started it but the stopped since I don't have time. I'll look at it again later. This probably explains why Wavelet doesn't work with Tidal.

That Turii does indeed sound very interesting, man these single DDs really do lure me in! Reading this while listening to London Grammar on the Isa, her voice sounds beautiful.

Lucinda Williams, in all her glorious raspiness, sounds so good on the Isabelle, and the Satin Audio Zeus is oh so good with her. Both it and the Plato removed several shades of grunge from the sound, if you've only listened to the Lady with the stock cable you need to give some gold or silver.

Rather restricted when it comes to cables, the only 2-pin I have outside of various stock cables is the Han Sound Nyx, which is copper and silver plated, might be worth a test though. I have also considered trying the MEST MKII cable. The cable rabbit hole is of course calling me though, been eyeing up quite a few lately.

It is.

I use it all the time on hf.

😃
I do to, I'll have to add organicity in with combined with proper tone and timbre is my bottom line, if it doesn't sound like live, unamplified music, an IEM, headphone, or any other reproduction tool it can have the greatest technicalities in the world, I'll take a hard pass. This is probably why I have this love/hate/lust thing with the Tralli, my guess is that's what the Master created in that oh-so-expensive package. Here's hoping the EVO, PHöNIX, or EXT are viable alternatives.

On the subject of IEMs to delve into intricate detail of music and really study it, this ambient/drone/field recording is a great example of where the likes of MEST MKII are worth their money imo - listening right now and absolutely stunning to behold the stage and individual components of the music.

Quite the sonic journey and really is a great example of one to focus on, not one to nod off to. Very impressive album... way too much damage done this weekend on Bandcamp!!!

Oh and that is a funny coincidence, it came up as a recommendation from an album by Experiments in Silence, another artist to check out if you haven't already.

I'm beating either one will be a nice step up, I don't think it need be outrageously expensive, reportedly the No.10 works well, though the two best cables I've found for both the Turii and Isabelle are the Eltech Iliad and Satin Zeus, both expand the soundstage and improves the tone and timbre on both.

I think the bass is a tad more hard-hitting with the Isabelle, perhaps tone/timbre is slightly better with the Turii, they are very close in performance.
