I have not, but with the 6XX which some also find to be somewhat bass shy, the Crack adds a wonderful sense of “musical bloom” to the sound. It is not the last word in resolution compared to more expensive amps, but I’ve very much enjoyed my time with it.Thanks for this recommendation. The price is excellent. Have you heard it with the 800S? Tks.

Question for the WC HE thread...
I am going on well deserved vacation soon, which includes LONG flights, and my question is:
For people that are mostly headphones users - what do you take for long flights? Headphones or are you "scaling down" to IEMs?
If headphones - which are your flight companion favorites?
Also, when flying - I am mostly watching TV shows / movies. For me, that helps pass the time faster than music.
When answering, keep in mind I am flying coach... So no 150 sq. ft. luxury for me!

Headphoneus Supremus
Personally I choose in ears, which also take up much less space when travellingQuestion for the WC HE thread...

One option is taking closed back headphones - days I’d choose the CC - and connecting them to my phone via hip-dac3. I created this super compact setup that works surprising well and is great on the go:

And now with ZMF’s new flat carrying cases, they headphones can be a really great throw-in-the-backpack carry option (note that one case is for the bigger headphones, and the other is for the bokeh headphones (I’m planning on getting a couple of these):

I’ll be there!
Most welcome! Will add you to the list..
It has been awhile for me, but typically was IEMs, DAP and Apple HP. Just too convenient with my iPhone.Question for the WC HE thread...

Jazz lovers...
Listening to Sarama Joy's latest album, "Portrait", which was released earlier today (actually my second end-to-end listen to this album today). What an incredible singer.
Some of you may remember me sharing my impressions from seeing her live in NYC earlier this year. If you ever get to sdo that, I can't recommend that enough. Meantime, I rejoice in each new release. What a generaltional talent.
Was listening to exact this album half an hour before. It was the first time since a few weeks that I listened to almost the whole album. I very much enjoyed her absolutely clear voice as well as the excellently playing backing septet.
I was using STORM via Eletech Enigma connected to RS8 which was set to “turbo mode” on medium gain. The plugins used were:
Fixed sample rate, DRX10K Dynamics and Convolution.
I had almost forgotten how transparent, analogue and as well dynamic the RS8 can sound and how well it drives the STORM.

I also love listening to her prior albums end to end. Such a joyful singer with an apt name..
The Storm does need heck of a lot of power to shine. Sounds great
AirPods Pro 2, exceptional noise cancellation and easily the most comfortable in-ear for extended listening (but for really long flights you will probably need to charge at least once).Question for the WC HE thread...

DCA Stealth for me. They don't sound as good on a DAP as on a desktop rig, but they're passable, especially for a plane cabin where ambient noise isn't going to provide a great listening environment anyway. They're comfortable, closed-back so reasonably isolating, non-fatiguing, and fold up so they're much more compact than any other full-size headphone of which I'm aware.Question for the WC HE thread...
