I use the Schiit Asgard 3 and it has so much power it drives them with ease. You can hear it in the sublime sound the combination produces.

Although the Hifiman he-6 and Sony mdr cd1700 have better bass, better highs and mids extension and quality, better details and are by almost all measures technically better headphones, 99% of the time i listen to the hd580. It must be some kind of magic, but only they always put a big smile on my face. Real masterpiece from Sennheiser.

I use m Asgard 2 with my 580 when I am working from home. I imagine the Asgard 3 might match well. Ridiculous amount of power.

Asgard 1 is also good.

Yup. Some "mid-fi headphones" have that magic

Is there a before / after review or section of a thread anywhere on the copper mass loading mod? I'm wondering how different they sound with the copper. I like how mine sound but I'm vain and the copper aesthetically appeals to me. lol.

How have JAR modified the 580s? I've seen articles but there is nothing definitive.
