Those shells look like SoundRhyme SR8. There was a new SoundRhyme in work. Is it this Penon? Those shells are very comfortable.

e: Not exactly the same because of Knowles BAs and probably other DDs. See https://www.head-fi.org/threads/sound-rhyme-impression-thread.966978/page-157#post-17991449.

Maybe same heavy people (like me) demanding more bass or a more energetic signature :)

There are many users who are looking for high-end iems with powerful bass, it is well proven with multiple iems that having elevated bass does not mean compromising any aspect sound technician, so I hope to get powerful bass with the dedicated switch :)

Folks, @iscorpio71 misunderstood that the connector was MMCX which he later corrected to say it's 2-pin. I've cleaned up subsequent replies to avoid any further misunderstanding.

Wouldn't it be better not to speculate so as not to give clues?🧐
Penon are no amateurs so no need to worry about clues.

Somebody on FB spoke of a price tag of 1.200 $ which seems realistic to me given the driver config (the 4 Sonion EST alone add up to >600 $ at least (depending on the exact model used) if I am not wrong).

How is SoundRhyme even profiting if they sell DTE900 for $750?

They’re a young company trying to get market share and make a name, so they undercut the usual expected price. But there’s enough profit there to do the undercutting.

Also, I’m not worried about some company’s profit, more than worried about them overcharging their audience because they can sell their items for cheaper but people don’t seem to know better.

Like the Chifi wave of 1+4 to 1+6 sets that came out the last few months, pushing about $200 or less that were regarded well, but people still being convinced that paying $100s more for the same types of configurations is okay because “name brand”.
