It's a close call for new album of the week today, between Messa, Italian woman-lead doom who introduce just a touch of jazz timing, and Germany's Black Salvation, an exciting new heavy psych band touched by the madness of the cosmos/kosmische.




Also Swedish garage psych hard rockers Spiders are on their third album. Newcomers from Portland, Blackwater Holylight stewed an enticing brew of ethereal doom psych. Khan from Australia are solid stoner psych. The Golden Grass have their third album of swingin' hard rock, RIYL Radio Moscow. A very solid batch this week!

Messå is just exquisite! Incredible recording!!!!

Altars of Grief - Iris. Posted this in TFFT a while back, it gets better with each listen. Reminds me of a more melodic version of Ghost Brigade in places. Think it's going to be in my Top 10 for 2018, for sure (Their Bandcamp page https://altarsofgrief.bandcamp.com/ Although it's not NYP on there).



The new NONE release on HD is good as well if you like things a little darker.
