For me its the Grado sr 80. Personally I dont understand why Grado sr60/80/125 are so universally recommended over here. Coming from the koss ksc 75's and demoing the Grado sr 80 and sr 125 i was expecting to be blown away with all the hype they receive. when i compared them with the ksc 75's, i found that the low end grados were only very marginally better than the koss with every source and amplifier i tried them with (they should be a lot better considering that the sr 80's and 125's can cost 5 to 7 times the cost of the ksc 75's). then i tried the sr 225's and i was blown away (and now own a pair). so IMO if you wanted an entry to the grado sound without killing your wallet just get the ksc 75's, and then if you wanted an upgrade shoot for the 225's or higher. this is all just my opinion of course.

I agree on the SR-80's (and Triports) but only because the Alessandro MS-1's are available for 5 bucks more.

Also IEMs as a group dont agree with me so lets clump them in.

UE super.fi 5 Pro

Where are the highs? Where is the sub-bass?

The problem with both the ER6i's and the UE5 Pro's are the tips, but for different reasons: The Ety's tips make them sound like crap (actually, i tried mine again using my MKV and they sounded better than I remembered) and the 5's tips just make them a PITA to insert properly.

I wouldn't be surprised if the UE5's get such a good rep because, like people, people listen to 3's, then 5's and get blown away by the difference.

It's funny that, if you search any headphone name, this thread comes up.

Sennheiser PX200.
Maybe Equation Audio RP-21, which have the strange virtue of being the most efficient unamplified headphones, but have stiff and heavy, disproportionate bass and constrained midrange and treble amplified.
