Help! One driver sounds like it could have a "wrinkle". What to do?

I have lightly cupped my mouth over the end and moved the air to see if there was a good seal just to make sure it wasn't torn, I do not think it is. One driver simply makes a seal, the other sounds like wrinkly celophane(SP?).

I have redone the cable, so opening the can won't be trouble, but once I do, I have the driver face down, obviously, from that point, what can I do? I have never actually lifted it to see the membrane. I hear there are ways to remove a wrinkle if that is what it is, and if it isn't, is there anythig I can do, or do I have a dead set of phones. These are original 325s, so I can't just send them in for repair can I? Other than this, I have kept good care, I reenforced the wiring, and made it easier to open them up if I needed to by reducing the amount of glue.

Please help, I feel like a good friend is very sick.

You can send them in, but Grado will replace both of your drivers with the new versions. Not sure the cost, but you can always give Grado a call to check.

A while ago I wrote in this thread that after listening to the SR325i on a Sugden Headmaster I thought they had a fantastic synergy. I still think SR325i do sound fantastic on the Headmaster. But since it is almost impossible to find a Headmaster these days I was looking for something else which could also drive the T1. I ended up with the Meier Concerto. I just want to add that the Concerto is a great amplifier for the SR325i. So if any SR325-lovers are looking at the Concerto you can go ahead - you will not be disappointed. That is if the typical SR325-sound with slamming tight bass, micro details and in-your-face sound is what you are looking for.

Nice picture! SR325 are great headphones - as I have said many times before, headphones come and go through the years but the 325's will stay with me thats for sure.

Forget about the G-cushion! Unless you want to destroy the sound in the 325's

I've read some info about the Mapletree Ear+ HD, and it seems that everyone loves it with the RS1i.

But how is the sound when 325is and the Mapletree unite? Or 325is and WA6?

Thanks :)

The SR325i are great on the Mapletree Ear+ HD. I've haven't heard a regular WA6 but had the WA6SE and with the SR325i it was spectacular. Soundstage was enormous and probably the biggest and best I've heard out of the SR325i.

I think that the 325is is plastic cups with aluminum covers.
