Ok I am thinking to just get the WA2 used since it is really good price.

My concern is cost of maintaining the amp. So what kind of costs would be involved with replacing the tubes when they die?

Sorry I am not familiar with Tubes and after some googling am not even sure I was looking at the correct tubes.
There is a reason tubes, turntables, CDs etc have become OBE look forward and forget maintenance and getting up to change and tend media.

Nice display for some great HP choices; it will be interesting to hear which set you reach for most. I have always found the beyer's are the most comfortable.

Curious why the stand choice, doesn't that style of storage promote early ear pad crushing?

so I have a headphone closet. I’ve noticed in leaves indentation where the headphone rests on the bar on pretty much all my headphones. I might buy plastic drawers lay some towels down and lay them down in the drawers... so most the headphones hanging kind of have an indentation on the bottom middle part of the headband padding.. What's hilarious is that except for the row of Beats, I recognize most of those headphones in my collection, either present or past. :beerchug:

That's the best part

Haha, I sense you are being facetious... lol... I don't really hate on Beats completely, I actually do have the PowerBeats3 wireless in-ears and some Beats Studio Wireless 2.0, but they don't get a lot of use. The Solo3 and Solo 2 wireless are actually pretty good and I still have a pair except the battery died on them. But it's hard to get head-time when I have so many that I like more. :D

same here I have the Powerbeats pro and some of the other wireless ones I cycle through at work (I’m a mailman) but at home it’s mainly the open headphone I listen too. And about 9 years.. I’ve given away about 10 or so pairs to close friends or family members. Don’t really like dealing with people on OfferUp or craigslist. The best part is when I have friend come over they are like dang son you got hella beats... and all I can think is if this fool only knew.... lol

At times we pull a bit of a joke here and there, yup! But we never bash or ridicule any products and also peoples' choices. Who are we to judge? :L3000:

Good, good... :) And I do think highly of iFi products, although I am still clinging to "old" technology, an original iFi CAN headphone amp. I've almost bought the iDSD Micro a few times but not yet... and now there's the iFi xDSD.

Congrats! If you still like our oldie iCAN enough to not go after anything new, that's all OK in our book!

In the past couple of weeks I bought a Beyer A1 amp for $280.00 US equivalency and a Beyer T1 for $345.00 US equivalency on Canuck Audio Mart. The amp is in great shape and the headphones look brand new, *one owner* which I always prefer when buying used headphones. My reasoning behind my purchases : about ten years ago, both the amp & headphone sold for a lot of money at that time and were considered excellent products. Therefore I reasoned, why wouldn't they still sound great ? They sure do & I'm quite happy with my decision. I've owned more expensive headphones and amps in the past but this combination is just as good and meets the sound qualities that I prefer. Very clear and very detailed with a great midrange. I use a Schiit Loki tone adjuster &/ or a JDS Labs Subjective3 tone adjuster and can set the bass, midrange and treble to my exact liking. A lot depends on the recorded production. I'm also a dinosaur in the sense that I listen to CDs, no downloaded music. My CD player is one of the very best ever made in it's price range, the Teac PD-H600 which also has a terrific internal DAC. Based on many years of experience in this hobby and having owned different headphones & amps in different price ranges, etc. my amp & headphone collection is now modest but good enough.

Nice find, enjoy the music. The A1 has very similar specs to the current A2, and as I have said before the OEM's seem to go out of their way to make their amps sound the best with their products. Old is certainly not bad especially when it comes to Beyer's and Senn's. I have the T1 gen 1 and primarily use the A20 to drive them and reach for them frequently both for comfort and SQ.
