Can some of you proud owners post some close up shots of the abalone faceplate. I am dying to see it up close but haven't seen any good high quality photos yet in this thread.

Regards,

Hey guys,

I’ve had a tia fourte for some time now and was looking to sell it and buy something priced lower. Also, I pair the tia fourte with the effect audio Horus cable and always found the sound to be a little fatiguing on the higher end.

Right now I’m looking at either the tia trio or the noble audio sultan. I also checked out the U12t and thought it would be a good option, but I read reviews comparing it to the trio and it seems like the trio has more micro detail which I prefer. However, maybe u12t with the Horus would be a solid combo.

that said, maybe I could demo the trio and u12t to compare and keep the one I like, but I also have my eye on the sultan because I used to have the kaiser 10 and loved it.

Any input would be appreciated!

Having owned both, I'm not sure I would agree with the Trio > U12t in terms of microdetail. Honestly, to my ears, the mids on the trio are too far back and lack body / detail. Where the trio shines though is with the bass. You just can't compete with a quality DD like this (except for speed, which can be a double edged sword for some). The treble sounds a bit more extended and present on the Trio, which might be good or bad depending on your tastes.

Honestly, I think it's worth trying to get both at the same time to get a clear idea for yourself, but IMHO, the U12t is the more versatile IEM.

I’ve just left this discussion for a week or so. Checked back and seen that the UK dealers now have this at the extravagant price of £1800. Clearly a very very bad price this side of the pond and I’m sick of being made fun of. Think I’ve got some great chi-fi in my immediate future over these overpriced American imports

I'll be putting them in my Lightbox this weekend. Will post pics as soon as I have them. They are really something, like pieces of jewellery.

Happy to report that I received my replacement pair and they are immaculate. Abalone looks perfect on these as well. Oh and regarding sound, I prefer these over the u12t without question. Such a great balance between detailed and musical. The bass is just right with the option to tune up or down.

Regarding a few posts prior mentioning the LX bass... they slam. More than the Nio, especially in sub bass. It’s not debilitating though. Just one of those things you have to hear to understand.

Are the BA mids and highs as forward / etched as on the U12t or are they more laid back / smooth sounding like the LX?
