AK100 firmware is the same worldwide. If you have updated your AK100 using the link from the iriver Japan website, you should be fine. No need to reload the same firmware downloaded from our US servers. It's still called v2.01.

Quite impressed with 2.01 coming from 1.33. Gapless is a huge boon, can finally listen to some of my albums that were meant to be played with gapless without being driven nuts by the transitions between each song. Haven't really made up my mind on the Boost and whether I like it or not, but it's a welcome addition. The interface is a great plus, makes navigating between the screens MUCH easier. Probably my favorite audio purchase in 2013 so far.

Still can't understand what's the big deal in making the original stock firmware available again.....

Just updated my Ak100 to v2.01
 
Nice, cleaner sounding and quite reminiscent of the AK120 with less note weight....depth has been stretch allowing better layering. Bass has more detail but lacks the punch of Lustrid 2.0. Vocals has a lot more air around it and sounds more distinct, although as a whole still musical where the 2.0 was, for me anemic and rather sterile.
 
Really down to preference and IEMs now but overall I like it quite a lot.

tried the new 2.01 briefly .. but switched back to Listrid 2.0, prefer Listrid 2.0

I found 2.0 beta sounding best, Listrid sounds more spacious and big but i find sound becoming bit more digital too, perhaps applies only to RWAK.
so far i will test Listrid bit more to see if revert back to Beta or not. bear in mind AK can benefit more from Listrid than RWAK, Gavin also thinks this way and he had all AK mods so must know for sure. I believe RWAK itself does a very fine job and does not need output helpers via software, i am not tech person but suspect this might be the case. My experience proves Vinnie mod is great on its own and adding to it will not necessarily be good.
