Understood,I want a question about power...

AK100's power like DX50,X3,iHifi 760 ? Which one does have same output with AK100 ?

AK power is intended for portable use.  Ie low, like 22mW@100, 45mW@50ohm, 90mW@25 etc.

I had also read that Toslink had a ceiling and didn't support 24/192 so one evening I hooked up a Toslink to a spare port on my receiver and tried it out with my AK100 MK2.  Everything I threw at it played including 24/192, which I thought would not work.

Hence why I said typically and dependent on implementation.  Good optical tech can do very high transfer rates, ie communications fibre, but if toslink was an after thought or uses throw in tech then it can usually handle 24/96 but not 24/192.  Which I suppose means the AK line uses great toslink tech :)

AK100 drives HD700 quite well without any amps though. Has to power up near max volume though.

Understood. Thanks for feedbacks guys. You mean AK100's output has enough power for portable use.

Like IE800,right ?

balanced armature iem or dynamic headphone?  Entirely about if you need the lower impedance or not.

Well in that case it's a toss up.  The ER-4P would become middle ground between the P and S.  The W4R would lose a little bit of the midbass hump and level out.  Could be good or bad depending on your goals.  The mk2 is the safer choice either way but at a premium.

So the Sony zx1 is receiving a lot of good reviews although I was initially planning to get the AK100mk2 with the added capability to use it as an external dac. Would like to get feedback from AK100/120 owners whether zx1 is really better than AK sound quality wise or is zx1 fotm? Thanks

From what I've read... it's different not better.  Read brighter and really low power at 15mW max output.

Hello guys,

I asked many questions, sorry. But I wanna be sure.

I currently use iHifi 760.Is AK100 better  than it truely ? I wanna be sure, cause I don't wanna be regretful when AK100 came to me.

If AK100 better than iHifi and it has enough power to handle IE800,I will order it.

But,if it has any suspicion about handle the IE800,I don't wanna order AK100.

Your observations are important for me.

Thanks...

No problems driving IE800... generally almost all IEMs are not hard to drive

Let's try this one more time...

The IE800 needs 4mV to put out 90dB... the AK100 puts out 1500mV... so yes more that enough power.
