I was using foobar2000.

Did the option come up on screen when you connected the AK100?

Just to confirm the steps:
1. AK100 must be powered on before connecting
2. If already connected to PC for charging or as storage device you need to disconnect and reconnect to get the DAC option
3. Once AK100 is connected as DAC right click on speaker icon in task bar (bottom right of screen) and select "playback devices". Set iRiver device as default and adjust preferences as desired
4. Open Foobar

That should work. If not, please advise where the above process fails.

Guys,

Still on my  1plus2  subjet:   I am sorry to ask this stupid question, but.... I am trying to understand why do you buy a  1plus2   instead of a full size Headphone when for the same price than a 1plus2 ( or other $2000 IEMs) you could get the VERY-Top-of the line Full size headphone like LCD3, TH900 or HD800 ?

Is it only for portability issue or, besides portability reasons, do you consider the sonic advantage/pleasure of 1+2  better than those "dream Full size headphone" ?

This is important for me to understand. Indeed, I have today a TH-900 that I am using for normal listening, but as you know I am looking for another headphone that do not leak sound outside for when I cannot disturb my environment (at work or in the bed when my wife sleep).   So I am looking for either a IEM or a (very) closed "non-leaking" headphone.
If I choose IEM, it is very likely that it will be the  1plus2 ,  but.... I still wonder if a  Beyerdynamic T5p, Edition 8  or Signature PRO...  will not be a better solution ?

thanks for your explanations

Because the 1P2, and other iems in its class, sound every bit as good as the TOTL headphones, and surpass them in some respects. You can get that kind of immersive sound with better comfort, less weight, and at a fraction of the size of large headphones. I didn't even look at my HD600 for the entire time I had the 1P2 and ASG-2 together.

Getting a Dignis case! Black/Red Simple version!

Dignis is the best. Still waiting for their ak120 case, hope it is released soon before I decide to sell the ak120.

BTW, how much did you guys pay for your dignis case? It seems like dignis is over charging for over seas sale. Ebay had them for $60, but Dignis's Korean website sells them for $30. So is the $30 for shipping?

I bought in japan amazon for about 4500yen. But they don't ship overseas and may end up costing the same or more with a forwarding service.

@bmichels Completely for portability's sake for me. Great IEMs do some things quite well (sometimes better than headphones) but for the complete immersive experience don't really hold a candle to TOTL headphones IMO. For home use, I'd never consider any of the several $$$ IEMs I currently have on hand over the TH-900. For use outside... well, lugging the TH-900 around isn't a very attractive option for me. Kudos to iRiver for continuing to update the firmware. The USB DAC option was a welcome addition, and I just downloaded the Pro EQ 2.20. Listening to it now, will see over the next few hours if it's an attractive option compared to no EQ.
