seriously, i love AK100 and cannot stop thinking about how sad this is when a good product like AK120 will miss many buyers because of poorly competitive price. reasonable pricing and strong marketing are as important as good product itself. come on Iriver, give some respect for your followers and cut your price 

 
actually dropping AK100 price to 550$ and making AK120 price 950-1000$ should be fairly reasonable... but with 1680$ for AK120 you must be kidding. competitors will kill your product with better offers.

We should not really comment on the price any further till an official release is made. It might create unwanted arguments. I think it is safe to assume all consumers would like a cheaper price.

but it's good to let company know opinions of potential buyers. so if price over 1K i am out and i can see quite a few chaps will opt out too.
also Iriver could leak informaiton to see our reaction so i find nothing wrong in letting them know. otherwise i cannot explain why and who leaked this info.

Damn, or tolerance has risen, nowadays 2k CIEMs and 1k daps is acceptable...when I bought a Cowon at 300$ a few years ago, I thought it was really expensive. And now I have 3k worth of Daps. But 1.7k.is juat off limits. It is actually twice a rwak and 3 TIMES a stock ak100.

That German pdf listed the prices for the AK100 at 699 and that AK120 at 1299.   I guess it is supposed to be in euros or german currency, but 699 is the official price in us dollars for the AK100.   That could be a coincidence, but that might mean that the AK120 will be coming in at 1299 USD too.  That isn't a great price, but at least it wouldn't be 1.5K!  I am in agreement with a lot of people here.  I might jump at 1K, but over that makes me hesitate.  Would probably wait for reviews.

Ok so let's take a look at it. Starting from AK100 and Colorfly C4 and DX100 and it is Japanese version HDP R10, Tera Player, Hifiman 801 and now 901.
 
When Hifiman annouced the price as 1000 dollar people were like, what the hell, seriously 1000?
 
I think iriver saw it and thought it is normal to pay over 1k dollars for a dap. Well, I would say, yes if it is worth it, it is okay to pay that money.
 
What we see, 64gb x 2 microsd which is nice you almost get 200 gb. Dual DAC, fine it is smooth, nice addition. Lowered output impedance to 3. It is a big improvement but people already have their RWAKs at this moment. Size is slightly bigger than AK100 but still remains very pocket friendly and all in solution.
 
I would say, below 1k, it would be a nice deal but with this price, I am sorry iriver, this is really hard. Even me, mad master student who is ready to burn his wallet for the perfect product, this is too much.
 
I am in EU region so for me it is 1300 euros. Hifiman 901 will be 1200 euros in here. So I can say AK120 will be the most expensive DAP around for a while I guess. If it was under 1k euros, I would happyly put money aside and wait for it patiently.
 
Edit: What the hell happened to volume knob? They really did something like this around it?
