And that’s a bad chip? I have no idea
What means bad? If it works, that already not bad) But yes, it's rather old chip.
And that’s a bad chip? I have no idea
Any ideas?
I poorly worded my opinion.someone earlier on mentioned that he is having trouble with the bluetooth connection on his device. So i am wondering if this is a common issue which could be related to a "bad" BT chip, meaning with known performance issues, or if could be a defective unit.
Any ideas?
BT chip is CSR8645, wifi don’t know
It seems, that Wi-Fi chip is Broadcom BCM43438 (found related files in firmware dir)
If this chip is used for WiFi, then it must be the BT chip as well since it has BT 4.2 as well. Google retrieved the following spec sheet and behaviour complies with R3 wifi behaviour:

Why is R3 limited with 24bit in 384kHz flac format? I converted all my DSD albums to 384/32 flac and deleted originals because they did not support embed album art and track gain.
I have album art in all the DSD files and they show up fine?
I used the Mp3tag, but the album art does not show in foobar2000 with DSF and the DFF didn't even allow to insert it.
It's extra hassle to manage/ update multiple music folders, one for PC, another for portable DAP and 3'rd for larger DAP.
Thanks a lot, it works! For aux input, simply need to change to the line out mode. On the latest 1.12 firmware, it is available in the menu when dragged down from the top. It is the 2nd button from the right, bottom row. It is only available to press when something is already connected to the 3.5mm jack on the R3.
After pressing the button, press OK to the prompt that appears. That should turn on the line out mode
I had the R3 for one week and i sold it right away. The interface was way too slow especially when using tidal.
