You can still get the German RFT's that are as nice as Real Mullard Blackburns, but you don't have to cut off your arm and sell it on the Black market....

I have them in my Marshall Amp. Just saying......

We heard more about the KC09 in December..."KC 09 is a 10 mm dynamic earphone. The work now becomes completely ear type, re-cable became possible with MMCX.
The sound was more refined than KC 06, and the expression of resolution and sound field was clearly improved. The metallic feeling of the cymbal etc is getting better. The presence of the low range also does not diminish, it feels like it can be used in a wide range of genres.
Because KC 09 already has a cable, it is thought that a package called "only without cable" is being invented, so it fell a head that I thought about user's convenience. The price seems to appear in around 20 to 30 thousand yen (depending on the type of enclosed cable)."

Thanks! @jant71
Looks like Ostry's taking a leap from budget-fi to mid-fi

Looks cool... What is everything?

On the bottom it's the DACmagic Plus as DAC/preamp, then it's two Nuforce HA-200 amps set up as monoblock driving one channel each and delivering 8W@64Ohm. On top lies the humble HE400i.....

Ha ha, so far I've only tried it with the HE400i and they're dead silent. I'm on my way to Germany right now but will test with some IEM's when I get back home.

Sounds like a great time for some Schnitzel, German fries, red cabbage and a couple liters of a tasty Alt

May have to alternate some Jager's with those brews

Quick unboxing vid of the VSonic VSD3P. Next to no coverage of them minus a couple posts in the Earbud Roundup thread so I thought I'd give 'em a go.

I'm listening to them right now and they're not bass deficient but neither are they bassy. A bit less than the original Monk which I thought had plenty. Mids are clean and forward, and treble has a nice boost. I find them leaning a towards the aggressive side. Maybe they'll soften up a bit with "burn in"?

Material quality is questionable as the plastic used feels, well, cheap. The edges on the arms are extremely sharp. Comfortable when they don't touch the edge of your ear, but if they do, you know it and they hurt, lol. Might sand them down at some point. Doesn't seem like VSonic tried too hard with ergonomics unfortunately.

Overall first impressions are mostly positive. I like the sound more than the Monk/Monk+/Senn MX470, esp. with foams. The cable is growing on me. Build leaves room for improvement, however. Those edges are frickin' razors.
