You know I'm a huge fan of the KZEDSE. These are an upgrade. They come with two sets of filters. A gold filter gives you a V-signature with bass that is tighter and faster than the KZEDSE with better tone. The bronze filters is a linear bass audiophile sound. Midrange and treble is very detailed and with good separations in both configurations. The imaging is fantastic for an IEM IMHO. It's more "out of the head" sounding than most IEMs. I really think you will enjoy it.

Gold filter sounds epic with a leaner sounding source. Bronze filter is amazeballs with a warmer source. I like them in both configurations.

I'm going to dance around the "giant killer" term LOL, and let the beholder be the judge of that. What I will say is that if I had no idea what KZ was, and someone had me pop them in my ears and tell them what I would assume the price would be, I would put the whole package and SQ right around the $100 range, no BS.

Worth a shot for $14 right?

Twist my arm... I'm in.

Yep - keen.  Fiio made a nice one a few years ago - but they discontinued it.  Was called the HS2 (http://www.head-fi.org/t/659603/introduction-about-hs2-headphone-signal-switcher).

I'd love a box with both multiple inputs (maybe 3 - RCA fine) and same with outputs (3 jacks).  That would be sweet.

Looked at Amazon, and am thinking of getting THIS or THIS. Both look interesting...

I try not to overhype stuff now days. I learned my lesson from the DGS100 LOL... To this day it's still one of my all time favorite gears. Many didn't care for it.

Don't expect something that will destroy everything that exists, but at the same time I will say it definitely has the Hisoundfi stamp of approval.

Of course, I'm just funning ya. I do want a cheap but decent beater that I don't need to worry about if I get caught in a thunderstorm. Plus my 07be is really starting to annoy me in the way it can make great fitting tips suck - adjustable nozzles and all.

Re headphone switches… doesn't just the act of switching phones kinda make comparison difficult anyways? I know my auditory memory is incredibly short.

I was so impressed with the ed9, I did an A-B comparison.

GR07be had better bass response and fit, but the ed9 won in just about every other category. Similar treble response, but the Mids and treble on the ed9 are crisp and detailed and fantastic IMHO

Just got contacted out of the blue by these guys (they're local - from NZ)

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/970055861/hybrid-valve-headphone-amplifier

Looks pretty interesting.  Roughly USD 135 (I'm guessing + freight) gets you a portable tube amp.  Anyway - as soon as the guy gets back to me I'll let you know.  Hopefully might have a unit to review before the end of the week.

Shout out to Eric (@hakushondaimao) for the referral too.

Alex - I also mentioned you just in case - although I know you're snowed under, and this one would have to be a rush job due to the KS being live already.

Interested to know how much 'ringing' there is when the amp is moved! Can't wait for your impressions.

I'm so sad that I didn't jump on the HS2.

But yeah, a multiple input and multiple output switch (that's affordable) would be sweet indeed!

I use a rather beautiful blonde.  She also happens to be the mother of my children - and she's not exactly cheap

Seriously though - if you find a cheap switching box - I'd be interested in one too.

I could build you a AB switch if you want. I made one for @DMax99 on the very first Head-Fi tour I was a part of. I'll see if I can get some time to make one and will send it with the next tour you set up so it can make it's way back to you.

I was just about to send this link to you to support you fellow Kiwis! Looks like you've beat me to it. Does look like an interesting product, and very cheap too. I'm still don't get how you can have a portable tube amp, don't you get a lot of ringing through the valves when they're moving?
