All these Fiio first generations second generations I have read so many reviews on them. So the UI on all of them is pretty much the same, honesty I cant stand there UI I hope the X7 is a huge improvement it should be for a touch screen. I have been using the AK100II and anything else's UI can't compete with it. And I am feeling a little outdated using it I need an upgrade with all these new dap's coming out, but I want something with a UI that can compete with AK players.

Haven't tried the AK DAPs yet but am happy with the Fiio UI. Maybe I'll get a chance to try AK someday and will have my socks knocked off! I did used to like my iRiver IHP-120 a lot :wink_face:

If you ever get a chance to use an AK UI and you like smartphones UI you will never go back. AK is like a smartphone but without all the bull crap.

I just find Fiio's UI having to many folders to many things to scroll threw and not responsive enough. But they do sound great for the price.

As long as it's got hardware buttons for FFWD/REW, PLAY/PAUSE, and VOLUME UP/DOWN, I'd be ok with a touchscreen device.

That's one of my favorite things about the AK I can push the side buttons when it's in my pocket to change songs and pause and change the volume.

I find the Fiio ui "serviceable". Sure it isn't pretty, or all that intuitive, but once you train yourself in how it works, its perfectly fine. I'm sure given time, all these chinese manufacturers will catch up. Plus, there is the cultural difference between how the device is used. I saw a segment on CNN many moons ago about how you couldn't give away an iphone in Japan because everyone there hated how the things functioned. I'm sure people at Fiio (and others) are a little amused at turning the tables on us gweilos (no offense intended)

Actually, iPhone has taken over the japanese phone market, just wanted to put that out there
