I think this has to be one of the best quotes regarding music .....

“Music is a moral law. It gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness, and life to everything. It is the essence of order, and leads to all that is good, just and beautiful, of which it is the invisible, but nevertheless dazzling, passionate, and eternal form .”

It's often attributed to Plato, but doesn't appear in any of his writings.  So - author unknown, but beautiful none the less.

I think Plato was a little pretentious and wordy.

MUSIC is T*TS!!!

As a matter of fact my daughter once said to me 'we are not a body with a soul, we are a soul with a body'.

Craig - your daughter is wise beyond her years. That actually describes part of the core of my own faith.  Nice post buddy.

I'd like to get an opinion from you guys if I could. I have the DX50 and listen to FLAC files almost exclusively; maybe 5% of my files are 320k mp3. Music I listen to is ..... let's say eclectic ; anything from Sarah McLachlan to The Misfits and everything in between. Most of my listening is through TF10s with a Null Audio - Brevity cable ; with this setup I want for nothing soundwise. I'm looking to get , actually I've ordered, the V Moda m80. Was looking for an over ear with a similar sound but not quite as much isolation. Figured for the $79 they are going for on Amazon it was hard to go wrong ; or did I?

I just wanted to chime in here since I have both the TF10 and M80. I picked up the M80 during the Radio Shack close out. The things are built like a tank. I don't think you can break them! They are on ear however and not over ear like the M100. I will also say this, they are much smaller than they look in pictures. Though I have read otherwise I feel that the M80 are a dark headphone. I would say they are a tad muddy at first, maybe a bit more than a tad (tard?) . After much brain/physical burn in I did warm up to them (no pun intended). Size is nice but getting a decent seal can be a little tough with their small opening. I've since replaced them with a pair of Momentum On Ear that I find much closer to my preferred taste and comfort. But I will also say that neither of them really come close to the TF10 in overall sound signature. Both headphones have a little more bass than I want sometimes and they just can't reach the same highs as the UE. In my opinion the M80 has a slight veil where the MOE doesn't (shocking I know for a Senn!) at least to my ears. And it's the veil, I think, you may have a hard time dealing with coming from the UE. Again, my 2 cents, your ears may vary.

As an aside, I was curious about that brevity cable but didn't hear too much on it. I just pulled a trigger on the UE pro cable and had SurfCables reterminate to Pono balanced. Hopefully that will come this week. John (SurfCables) mentioned looking for a possible cheaper solution in the future.

That Macaw earphone, Fidue A65, 71 TI-TECH, A73, the Penon IEM since it was $10 and couldn't resist the DN2000J on Massdrop.  Oh yeah, the E80 too.  Always been a fan of Soundmagic.
I'm jamming the a65 at work right now and they are very good for the price. The soundmagic e80 and Fidue are both a league ahead though to my ears.

Enjoy your new toys friend and make sure to post impressions on them when they come in!

I think you're the only one that's mentioned about the A73 and I think my preferences are similar to yours.  Both you and Zelda like the E80 so that's a no brainer.  I'm a Fidue fanboy now so the A65 should be pleasing as well.
