Smart - I am regretting not buying it from a US based retailer (I found them after the fact). Whatever, it is workign reasonably well as a DAC for my pc streaming from the desktop Tidal client, and there are some mobile work-arounds. But I will say the headphone jack is a bit wiggly. Such a shame, I really want to like this little guy.
Let me know if you settle on a more reliable, Tidal-enabled device.

I just got mine from Hiby and I have it rebooting randomly and Tidal not working. I tried the whole 2.4ghz vs 5.
I hope this is something that can be fixed via FW. The company is barely responsive when you email them.

Not a bad idea. Interestingly some new phones like the LG V30,35 support MQA and such now. might make it easier to use as a transport. I'm stuck with an iPhone which makes everything hard.

Has anyone tried using the R3 as an external DAC via usb on an iPhone using the camera connector (like the dragonfly red and black both do?) This would be a good workaround for me in the short term since I'm stuck and can't return this thing...

This is actually the fruit of my labour...
I like it a lot, works perfectly for me.
Next step will be some additional transport sleeve to go over it and protect the stack in a bag, and maybe a belt clip...

HAHA! That makes sense - good on ya, mate - looks pretty well executed. while youre at it, toss in a battery pack slot, and some wheels to cart around your new mobile PC

Actually - im going to be testing out the camera adapter for iphone, try to use the r3 as a dac for now (like on my pc) - if it works, I'd love to figure out a 3D printed case option to tie it in with my phone. Maybe you can help with that? @surfgeorge
I'm going to send it back. Seems like really poor build quality. Back to the drawing board for a tidal streaming dap that's small to transport my chord mojo.

Has anyone figured out how to get Tidal to play? I bought my R3 from the Hiby store. I can log in to my Tidal account and I can see my music buy I can't play anything. Is there any hope that Tidal will ever work?
