Does FitEar use proprietary cables and connectors? If they don't, what other brand cables can be used?

Pretty much every aftermarket cable makers have FitEar type connectors, you shouldn't be worried about it. It is not typical Westone/JHA style connector, it looks like Senn HD600/650 type of connector, people reported it is more durable and secure. Nevertheless, you can find aftermarket cables easily, don't worry about it.

Thanks. Just curious in my initial foray into CIEMs.

Depends on which FitEar model you have but based on the current MH335DW signature, I've been using the Tralucent Silver/Gold pretty much exclusively. If you search back a little, MTTheFirst & I did a review of the Toxic Silver Poison, Silver Widow, and Tralucent Silver/Gold :-

Just before X'mas MTTheFirst passed the Toxic cables back to me so I can do a 2nd round "slightly longer term" review. However the cables have unfortunately still been sitting in the wrappers. Haven't had time to put them on yet.

I'll need to go through this and other FitEar related threads in detail once I pick up my MH335DW from Jaben (supposed to be Tuesday next week). Probably won't look into aftermarket stuff anytime soon since I already sprung for the 000 cable, but it's good to know what's out there. Thanks.

There are many 3rd-party cable makers such as Toxic Cable, Alo, BTG, Whiplash, etc that sell cables with FitEar connectors.

I would also add Forza Audioworks also will be making cable for FitEar as well. I just reviewed his hybrid which he will recable for me for FitEar. And a great price and quality build I might add!

Well, it does seems that Forza need to get a better host, it is a hassle to navigate with error popping up every 2 pages. =/

That'll be cutting it close to my stay then, might have to get relatives to ship them over if I do go that route.

Or you could plan ahead. Have your relatives speak with the people at Jaben HK/GZ and find out if you can have an audiologist in your current country of residence do an impression for you. Then you ship the impressions/molds to your relatives (or directly to Jaben). If all goes as planned, you can walk into Jaben during your visit to pick them up. That way, you can test them out in the store. I know of some people from Europe who've done the same via the Jaben in Singapore.
