The FitEar CIEM Impressions Thread

Essentially yes, it's just a matter now of deciding when to invest. If the time is 'right.'

Go have a listen. If you never dip your toes in the water and just stand by and watch, you'll never know what you are looking for. It's more than just about what is the best from the ears of others. Further, cable connectors can be modded at any time: you are fortunate to be from the UK where Toxic Cables are based. Frank can do magic with connectors and cables. That's the least of your worries. :)

Impression done, now the waiting begins!

I'll be pulling private222 btw, due to my small ears (really smalll.), money and sound consideration..

Congratulations!!

Would love to hear your impressions of them. The 222 is the only pair of the consumer line FitEar customs that I have not heard/own.........

Wow, didn't know Translucent owns and talks about other products than their own.  Much respect.

I still remember the days that the only CIEMs that I liked are the 222, 223, 333 and JH13. The amount of choices we are getting now, not sure if a curse on our wallets or a blessing to our ears.

You are a much better and patient man than I am, my friend.

Putting money down for a pair of 335DW studio. Boom!

How does the ordering process work in Japan? I assume you visited the main FitEar HQ and had crappy ramen with Suyama-san before making your order. Do you have to order a 'standard' MH335DW first, wait for it to arrive and then find out if you qualify for a Studio Reference upgrade before sending it back, or do they let you know then and there just after taking impressions, or do they give you a call midway through the build process to inform you that the SR upgrade is possible?

I read your site from time to time, but have no idea if you already owned a 335DW prior to the SR upgrade or not, so I apologize in advance if this seems like a dumb question.

Either way, I expect a detailed review (complete with beautiful pornography photography) in a few months on your ohm-porridge site.

No porridge for these badboys. I do NOT have a regular 335DW. I borrowed a demo for review pair of 335DW at Headfonia and loved them so much... yep. The bad news is that I won't have the dosh for another four months. I got my moulds and have initiated the process and selling parts of friends' bodies. I should have them (if able to sell my STAX) sometime in July. If not, a bit later.

I fill out a sheet with colour preferences, the name I want on the box and earphones, but didn't go for crappy ramen. You are supposed to go straight for the 335DW then upgrade later, but since I got to borrow the 335DW for a month or so and liked it enough, I was able to go straight on. I'm still on the baby step stages though... mainly because I don't have all the dosh ready.
