I really want 'scroll bar' and 'jumping function' to the next scroll in track list.... Can it be revised?

sorry, I known it is very important to some user but we can not fulfill every requirement . for example, if Apple try to support all kinds of music format, iPod will have lots of bugs and running slowly to.

James, does the will my X3 allow for channel swapping? I looked at the specifications page and it didn't mention it. I have a pair of iems that I prefer to wear over ear (which reversed the channels).

Also, is there a pdf version of the manual that can be downloaded?

Thanks!

sorry not, I will ask our staff upload the user manual on our website.

I have read some very nice opinions of X3 on a russian forum(I'm from these parts). Some come with a wow, some say it's just good for the price. Others say although it has very nice sound, it's fun to listen to, it soudns clean, but it doesn't have the LIVE sound feeling to it like a Hi-Fi audiocard like say E-MU 1212m, or Dr.Dac 2. Is that true? I have a Fiio E11 myself, been using it with a Clip+, but using it with the CLIP+ it definitely loses some of the sterile sound that Clip has, when I go to sleep sometimes I listen to some music, not loud, and in that moment I feel that my clip+ with just my HiFiman RE400 sounds cleaner and more alive, than through E11, although the sound is a bit thiner, but at low volume it's all fine. I assume that the interconnect may cause all this. That is why I want to just skip these interconnects, and get a DAP that's good sounding adn powerful, like the X3.

I am afraid that X3 is not a true Hi-Fi DAP, it may sound meaty and fun, but if it doesn't have the wide range fidelity like an usual professional PC audiocard it cannot be considered Hi-Fi. It's a mistake adn shame to use that word on X3.

For $200 and not having to lug around my whole desktop rig to have those hi-fi sound, I'm really not complaining. Not to mention that I haven't heard it, it may just have the right synergy for my cans.

imo, interconnects, lods or cables, as long as they're decent quality, they won't have too much effect on the sound, compared to the headphones, earphones and amps.  End of the chain has more effect - unless your cables are like real, bad quality, I mean $2 shop quality.

Dunno about the E-MU but Dr.Dac is a stationary dac/amp unit that is made for home use with more power output so I'm not sure if it's a fair comparison to portable devices.

Buying and trying X3 is a choice, waiting for X5 is another choice, but if you can't wait, and if you really want wide range fidelity, you may want to try other earphones or amps too (but a clip+ can't be the end if you look for better and better SQ).

I do believe X3 never claimed to be a Hi-fi player. Just one that does plenty of things right, ie playback, sound quality, portability, etc.

As with many things in this hobby, you have to hear it for yourself to truly know what works best for you. While I like the C3, I prefer a certain warmth in my music, which is why I went back to iPods. Again, personal preference plays a large part in this, so your best bet is to try them out yourself.

There was a review on head-fi for the x3 called "Hi-Fi, low price". So I guess we don't even expect it to have that high fidelity sound. I already have a good sounding player which is Sansa ZIP, even if X3 is an upgrade, it can't be crucial which is what need. I think I'll wait for the X5 and see how that will go. And $200+ is infact a lot of money in my opinion, what apple does is called money for the brand we all know that,  sound is average, no better, or worse than a Sansa clip.

I remember the old SONY D311 Discman, model from 1992, I still have it, the european version, so small and yet so amazingly rich and true Hi-Fi. I don't know how it does it, but it is a portable Hi-Fi cd player, Etymotic ER4S sounds amazing with it. And it has a SNR of like -95db, a lot of vintage standalone players too have had no more than that and it was true Hi-Fi, sound that sounds like it's REAL in your head. How come today a brand like HiFiMan charges $1000 for a DAP that likely has no better sound than a Discman D311, maybe it's cleaner on paper, but as for subjective SQ I doubt it is any better sounding.  Most likely has a modern digital sound sig to it that many people cannot stand, they prefer smooth and warm old school Hi-Fi.

How come you're so certain when you don't seem to even heard the products yet?

I didn't say I was certain of anything. I just believe that HiFiMan is ripping people off because they think have no competition. They buy people with high technology, double DACs and stuff like switchable amps, only to make people believe/placebo  that this is the ultmate sounding DAP, when infact it's most likely not if we take into accout that most of us listen to 16/44.1 Khz audiorecordings/music, and not 24/192 when we coudl actually have those new impressions. It's like buying a spaceship to fly on earth with it.

I listen to FLAC and APE, pretty sure many Head-fier have a library full of 24/192s too. Besides, this is a thread for the Fiio X3, how'd Hifiman get into the conversation? It's fine if you're doing a comparison, but this is plain baseless theorycrafting.

As for CDPs, I think it's assumed that you lose a little quality for portability. Current PMPs have digital libraries, I highly doubt anyone could lug around 64Gbs worth of music in CDs.
