I'd need to know where I can buy the parts were broken , unfortunately not in warranty period ...
The battery swelled and this broke the display and also a memory of 16gb high speed, it was a disaster ...
Excuse my English
How do you turn on the preset volume adjustment when the player turns on? Mine always turns on at the last volume played. When I go to the setting in the menu, it displays memory, but doesn't start there. I want to set it to start at 70 on the volume, but it always reverts to last volume when turned off.

Thanks, I figured it out. I set the preset to 70, press the OK button, then it worked. Don't know why I couldn't get it to lock before, but I've got it now, and won't blast my eardrums on startup.

It really depends on what changes Fiio makes. If all they change is switch to a wheel, then no. I've gotten used to the button layout now. I'm waiting to hear if they change the opamp/DAC. There was talk long ago that maybe they didn't need to use a quite so powerful amp (and maybe a more neutral sounding one). I also think that Wolfson DAC is got to be pretty old by now and there got to be some better alternatives. So, if they do make some improvements to the sound quality, then yes I'll get a new one.
Well, now that there is an E17K, that might become the new amp section for the X3K yea, not unlike the current X3. I really love the X3's sound sig, if they can make the X3 sound even clearer I'm sold. (Kinda like my music on the warm side of neutral.

I wonder what firmware you loaded on your X3 when you bought it?
I have had my X3 for a year or so now and I was having perfect gapless playback - and I mean PERFECT - UNTIL I recently updated the firmware to FW3.21beta and now I'm SOMETIMES noticing very short gaps (less than a second) between files that are supposed to provide seamless integration and it's annoying. I can only assume that the code involved has been altered and I agree that should never have happened.
Actually I have another problem with this update - again something that I've never noticed before - and that is that files of higher resolution that 16bit-44.1KHz become garbled for a few seconds. This doesn't happen a lot but, once again, it shouldn't happen at all. I haven't noticed anyone else comment about this but I can't imagine I'm the only person who has experienced it and I've noticed it with both 24-bit/96KHz and 24-bit/192KHz files.
I wonder if FW3.30, which I've now downloaded, fixes these issues but I notice it appears to be introducing further functionality and I can't help but wonder if there will be further issues with them.

First rule of thumb is, don't judge the FW based on a beta. Especially when there is already an official release after it. Please report back after you load 3.30.

You are, of course, quite correct and subsequent to my posting I decided to install FW3.30, which I assume is NOT a beta, and it appears to have rectified the 'garbling' problem I was experiencing. (Incidentally, I also subsequently extracted the micro SDcard from the X3 and inserted it into my SDcard reader via the dummy holder and played the same sections through my PC's sound card to be certain that there wasn't file corruption and it all sounded fine) .
Unfortunately, the 'gapless' problem does not appear to have been fixed. I have just played John Adams' 'Doctor Atomic Symphony' (Chandos) and the second and third movements are supposed to be continuous but there was a short break in the music on the two occasions I played it. I had forgotten to set the gapless option to 'on' the first time around and thought that might have been the reason for the break. However the change in the setting did not make any difference.
A pity, although I'm confident it will be solved soon..
The real plus for me now is that the sound is really superb: warm yet extended at the top end with rich, deep bass and both clarity and spaciousness. Very impressive indeed. I have yet to look at the equalizer but doubt I'll use it. It's a remarkable little player really.
I've been using the X3 for the better part of a year without issue while using a SanDisk Class 10 64GB Micro SD card.
I just bought a new SandDisk Ultra Class 10 128GB Micro SD card and was wondering if its fine to format the card to exFAT like I did with the 64 GB card? I'm using the latest non-beta FW from FiiO. I'm assuming that I shouldn't have any issues with the 128GB card with the newest firmware that I've been running.
I only load the player with full folders/albums that have already been tagged and the files inside each folder are always FLAC.
