The Fiio X3 Thread.

considering I have a Sony Walkman, zx1, and I think the X3 is not far in SQ from it... Plus it has a better sound signature, I think you will be very pleased.

Looking forward to checking it out.  I like the idea of a good performing single unit- no rubber bands or wires- at a reasonable cost. I've been scoping out devices like this for some time, but paying $700 for an A&K unit just wasn't worth it to me. Also appreciate the continuing commitment to improvement of the device.

When I attempt to do that via my computer, when I disconnect the X3, I get a message on the screen of X3 saying File System Not Supported. What the heck is going on?

Re flashing the firmware might solve this. Easier to try than formatting and reloading all files.

However, if it wasn't already, the card should be formatted with the X3.

A little X3 love for the group... :D
The perfect listening rig for out on the deck this holiday Monday.

OM's Advaitic Songs "Gethsemane" from the FiiO X3/E12 combo to the modified Fostex T50RP Orthodynamic, whose speed and detail is amazing.

Hey that Fostex looks better than the originals, What did you mod?
It's a modified version of the BMF DBV3 mod. Shure 840 pads and my DIY leather headband.

The bass/treble controls on the X3 sound better than the EQ on the X5 so I don't think your missing out in anything there.

Not just a little bit better, either. Way better! It's funny, X3 owners want an Eq. X5 owners who previously owned the X3 really want the hardware bass/treble Eq. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Thanks TrollDragon,
Nice headphone by $100, and nice mod project, sure they sound great !!!!

I do not use it at all, I'm even feel guilty if I use the bass treble controls on the x3. I do not like the sound with that controls modified.

When I need a little Bass boost for headphones like the DT880's the E12 does a good job since there is no EQ on the X3' s line out.

I don't like amping from the X3's headphone out to the E12 as I use a short IC and the X3 is upside down in the belt pouch so you have to reach all the way in to pause or skip tracks.

Only Problem is that the Hold button is hidden by the part which holds the Front in the back, but i think i can put a hole in it and fix this Problem.
