The insides of the X3, Mmm...
I'm torn between buying a ipod classic 7th gen vs an X3. I can rockbox the 7th gen which will allow me to play almost all formats. My question is if the sound quality of an x3 is better than a classic?
How can you Rockbox a Classic. It's never been listed? I would like to do my 80gb.I'm torn between buying a ipod classic 7th gen vs an X3. I can rockbox the 7th gen which will allow me to play almost all formats. My question is if the sound quality of an x3 is better than a classic?

Space is a consideration of course but I am not going to be using 160 GB at one go. Either ways, I couldn`t wait and bought myself an X3 Haven`t spent too much time on it but my initial impression of it makes me think I made the right decision
I'm just going to use dbpoweramp and convert my flac files to alac, lossless is lossless, and run it out the line level dock connector to my e11. I've tried my mp3's that way and it sounded real good. I just need to convert and re rip some now. I'm sure the X3 has some SQ advantages but I like the classic interface.
