The Fiio X3 Thread.

Sandalaudio confirmed it working with Hus Xperia just a few posts above. I have not had any luck getting it to work with either my HTC one nor my Nexus 7, 2'and gen. Both devises work with my other USB DACs....

i'm not sure how Sandalaudio got their Xperia to work but my rooted Kobo and my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (factory) are both running Jellybean and don't even see the X3. Even using USB Audio Recorder Pro. My USB audio class 1 DACs all work fine.

Thanks for the clarification. Do you know if it would be possible to anyone to develop an app as soon as 7.x is jb or even on the app store? I mean, as long has there is no proprietary protocol or something like that there shouldn't be any problem, right? (crossed fingers)

Re: app development - certainly if/when 7.x is JB, it'll be easier to develop. That said, there's been no official word from Apple about external DAC support, even though it works for a lot of class 1 devices. The only way to know if Apple would authorize such an app would be for a developer to submit one to them. That's a lot of work especially when they don't know if Apple will authorize the app for release on the iTunes Store.

Yeah,  app store would be harder. Now I'm even more anxious for evad3rs' release, that darn iTunes(through vm it really sucks) gets on my nerves.

Hopefully fiio's implementation of class 2 is compatible with most dacs  so that an app shows up w/ the jb. I wonder why James didn't implement class 1 also, seems like it would be easy to do after class 2. (maybe an option in the dac menu?)

Anyway, sorry for having so many questions, I'm new at hi fi

use blue instead of green? not a bad ideal :D
But i will not make it happen until i complete the green one. thanks for your understanding... :L3000:

I'm waiting for the blue version... the green version looks enticing but blue will make me even happier! Good job!

My Xperia Z1 simply detected the X3 on DAC mode, just by plugging it in. X3 woke up from sleep and immediately went into DAC mode.
It is showing up as 192kHz 24bit DAC on USB Audio Recorder Pro and sound comes out of it.

Did you change the USB mode of your Android to debug mode?
