Yes, yes. Your tea spilled. Now instead of whining about it on a public forum. I can better assist you in you asking questions if you don't know what alternatives to seek, or better yet. If the user already knows what to do next.

It's inevitable that people would post their impressions of gears they own, good or bad.

If you were to think that whining about the cons of the product brings about no useful solution/contributions,
so does positive feedback on the players.

In fact people post positive notes to reinforce their decision of making the purchase,
negative feedback on the other hand tell people which loopholes needs to be covered.

Anyone who faces major problems and wants them solved will probably email the company themselves.

So you might ask what is the use of a forums for.
I see head-fi as forum for people to share their knowledge as well as impressions of item, good or bad.
And I've always told people that if criticism was something one cannot tolerate, the forums are clearly a place to avoid.

Another thing: is it just me or does the player lag a little when going to next tracks?

It seems to rush through the first ~1-2 seconds of the song before playing normally, gives me the impression that it hanged for a sec before starting to play

It does this for me too, even with gapless playback on.
Both for FLAC as for ALAC files.
It might be because of the amount of data stored?

For me this is really the only problem with this player.

Agreed. It might sound as whining, however, as James is actively monitoring this thread, he might have a solution, or indeed find this problem within a current firmware, getting it fixed in another.

Without feedback, no progress will be made.

Now on the flipside, some people are whining purely about the X3 not being an iPod/some expensive DAP. These people should rethink their lifes choices and stop posting.(my opinion)

Yes ...i do get that too ...most of my songs are in mp3 and wma format ...i thought it was only me but others too are experiencing this effect. It seems to speed up for the first 2 or 3 seconds and then back to normal speed .

Hopefully thee will be fixed in the net fw update

Hi CH23,
which class is your MicroSD class ?
I'm also experiencing the same issue with FLAC "delays" on my class 4 - 32Gb card, but I just ordered a class 10 hoping that this will fix the problem...

Hi,
just bought The Rolling Stones - Grrr! from HDTracks, put it on X3 internal memory, files are indexed except track 08, X3 BUG !!

Edit : just renamed the folder, reindex and then it's indexed

If I were less lazy, I'll write a tool to check what's on X3 internal memory and SD card and compare it to what is indexed on the sqllite db on internal memory. I wonder how many files are not indexed and why !

Either you're posting this in the completely wrong thread, or you meant it's the X3's fault for not indexing it? Could you specify?

Hello all !

Still no problem for me with the original firmware in my everyday use.
I read only high bitrate MP3, the UI is a bit slow... not annoying at all
Just notice a big gain in clarity with top line CIEMs (comming from a clip+) and a more balanced sound.

I just want to say that the X3 is a great player !

Seems really frustrating. To me that's more of a bug than all the tagging issues combined. Hope it gets fixed ASAP.
