James please improve the headphone out/lineout jacks for the X3 as they usually are a problem with your E17/E7 =)

Depend on our researching, the main problem may cause by a big heavy 3.5 mm metal jack of the headphone cable or the LOD. like below. the cable will adds a heavy pressure to the headphone socket and damage it.

We already spent about $20000 to make a private tooling mold so we can make a new headphone socket and resist more pressure. but we do hope our user don't use any LOD with big and heavy metal jack or 3.5 to 6.5

adapter in our portable amp.

Anyway, do not stop to buy a new MP3 if you need one right now。 “ The more expectation, the more disappointment. ”. there are so many high quality MP3 in the market.

Still excited now. Or rather, re-excited. April of next year is definitely not too far away. The fact that this is an R-n-D priority-intensive project should serve as a positive thing as far as outlooks go. I'm curious as to how the hardware bass/treble controls will work though... analog filters? Or a digital wideband non-sweepable parametric EQ with a hardware control?

I am very excited for this and very happy this project is back on! I hope you guys make an internal 32 gig and yes take up to 64 gigs so i can pop out the microsd cards, it's an interesting design and hopefully with a lineout it will be different thank you fiio for the good work, and amazing products!

I don't know how hard it is to implement, but if not to late, people would go absolutely nuts over X3 if it could possibly support X2 SD cards.

Nuts I tell ya!

My guess is it will be similar to what have had implemented in E7, a dedicated volume controller chip with built in EQ function.

Two is better than one :p ... or SDXC.

thanks. although one of my friend is just using a straight 3.5mm plugs when his E17 jack died. the other friend of mine is using a yongsheng plug (oem of neutrik) if i recall correctly. my 7's jack died after a few days of purchase and im plugging a D1001 stock plug on it.

good thing the shop where all the E17/E7 were bought are all under warranty so it got replaced right away.

hardware eq reminds me of cowon products.. very nice! and if the jacks are going to be improved further, im already sold =)

p.s. i rarely use an amp while on the go

This sounds like it's going to be a sweet little player. My only questions are about battery life when playing lossless files and storage capacity.

To make it more clear, I attached a photo to explain how we improve the quality.

This is such a good improvement on design. Pass-through pins are a good technique for strain relief if the pins are long enough. And the band is good as well. I just hope that IF any damage occurs, it doesn't rip the traces off the PCB, and/or damage the PCB itself :frowning2: then again, with the protruding collar of the jack, as long as there's enough body material around it, it shouldn't be a problem. If you can, please add a thin rubber gasket/ring around it.

Very nice James! I really appreciate it.

Also, any chance that there will be L-R balance "feature" for the x3? For those people who enjoy music but have channel imbalances with their hearing..
