The FiiO X3 Thread UPDATE: Project Back On! Read the First Post for Information.

James already promise he will look into the possibility of gapless and request it to the firmware team when the X3 actually reaches development stage, same as a decent EQ system. There is no point of assuming why FiiO won't want those features on their DAP, except that the firmware team may not be able to come out with a reasonable solution. In which case, asking FiiO to pressure the firmware team is not going to be helpful - it is business, not a game, you can't just go out there and make the world do what you want. If it really turns out that gapless is not supported, well it will just be one of many features that the player is missing, at least you will know forehead on whether you want to spend your money or not. If it does support gapless, all the better!

ClieOS, that was aimed at comments that gapless was not important - which I think are absurd. I've already had a response from James re. gapless I am happy with.

For the memory cards - I can currently get a 16GB microSD for ~£16 or a 32GB for ~£65. So I can get four 16s for the price of ONE 32.
I'm thinking that considering how fast things move that by the time this DAP has actually been released that 32GB might be reasonably priced at that point.

Mildly topical aside:

OK! just some updating!

1, We will put the gapless in our X3, and there may have a switcher option in the setup menu!

2, The X3 will not come with a earphone or headphone, you may need to buy one for yourself!

3, Of curse, I guess, there will have lots of comebo, like X3+E9, X3+E11, X3+ E??(LOL, seems we need to develop a DAC AMP with coaxial in ), and X3+TF

With gapless in place and a switch to disable it, I guess everyone will be happy :)

Wow, before March... That's some seriously quick developing you're doing. I like!
In fact, I have liked everything Feiao has posted here and am definitely eager to see and pre-order this thing.
Especially since my Meizu M6's battery is decaying ever more quickly...

I'm guessing that the switch is because of the extra battery power running gapless will require?

Why would anyone desperately want an extra split seconds silence between their tunes?

Great idea though if the process is battery intensive, so we can just put it on for the albums that need it.

Cool. I would only have one format anyway so that wouldn't be an issue.

So you don't listen music on shuffle just albums?
I tend to shuffle for the most part of the time(because I get bored otherwise) so the switch is a great idea.
