Just an FYI that Amazon dropped the prices on the Dignis leather cases for the 2nd Gen X3 to $29.95 yesterday (with free Prime shipping if you have that).

Thanks for the heads up (link for the lazy). I'd jump if they had the red one. I guess I'd still be able to stack with the big rubber bands that came with the X3ii? I know my HS12 kit wouldn't work anymore.

There's no official X3 II (firmware) thread on the Sponsor forum yet, at least I couldn't find one. Does anyone know if 1.0 is the latest release? And is there a firmware editor available like for the X5?

FW 1.0 is the latest. Far right-side of this page.

@nmatheis yep, I saw that right before ordering the E12. Figured it'd be a good purchase after reading that.

Glad you made an informed decision. I ordered K553 without knowing that an amp was needed for bass, listened straight out of my DAP and thought they sounded very thin. Out of my E12A however, they fill out nicely. I imagine they'd be even better with a desktop amp.

And here I am trying to avoid getting a E12.  Looks like a future purchase, or maybe a Schiit stack.

Silly bandz :D

Curious if anyone's compared xduoo X2 amp to fiio x3ii amp?
Seems like some peeps thought the x2 and first gen x3 were comparable on that end...

I also got no bands. I also did not get a HD Tracks Coupon.

Bands typically come with amps, not with DAPs. I didn't get bands either, and wouldn't have expected them with the X3ii. My understanding of the HD Tracks coupons is that they came with the original X3, but not the new one. Anyone get a coupon with the new X3? Guessing no...

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately there are location restrictions with HD Tracks (so I can't order being based in Canada).
