And here I am trying to avoid getting a E12.  Looks like a future purchase, or maybe a Schiit stack.

Please excuse the interruption, but emze take a look at my used E12 v1 up for grabs in the for sale forums. It's as powerful as the current E12 but has more focused (less bloated) bass boost - LINK.

Back to regular programming :beerchug:

you got rubber stacking bands with yours? i didnt #notfair lol. i want to get one of the brown dignis cases too.. :frowning2:

I didn't get any bands with my X3ii.

I also got no bands. I also did not get a HD Tracks Coupon.

Looking through my boxes, the bands came with the E12, not the X3ii. Sorry for the confusion. They came in at the same time so I mixed up which box they had come in.

I'm still waiting for mine...so it fits good? How does it feel? Does it provide a decent grip or is it slippery?

Feels very good. It's smooth but not slippery. Buttons are recognizable on touch and easy to press. The finish is very good in my opinion. The leather/case feels strong but is not overly thick, much better than the FiiO X3 leather case which was a bit thick/bulky.
All I need

Hey,

Nope no Bands.

Yes Typically Bands would be included with the AMP's not DAP's

Was not expecting any Bands either.

HD Tracks starting with units again manufactured in May 2015 so maybe the next round of units will include but none of the first units.

Thanks,

Thanks. Sounds good! I'm happy I ordered one and it won't attract lint like the schticky

. I had the case for the X3 and it was expensive but cheap! It was pleather glued together and came apart very easily..that was slip on case with the exposed face.

Even through I don't own a pair (yet at least) what amp would be recommended to run HD600's with my Fiio X3 gen 2? Would the Fiio E12 be the best Fiio option? It appears to have the more power then the E12A

Thanks!

what headphones do you use as portables with this? Looks really nice :O
On the other hand, I feel like the X3ii does well with sensitive in-ears, so unless I have something harder to drive I'm not sure I'll find it worthwhile to haul around a stack. Any thoughts on this? I don't have any portable amps

For portable I use Beyerdynamics DT-1350 ,Ultrasone HFI-780 and Focal SpiritPro (headphone) or HEIR Tzar350,Fidue A83(IEM).
X3 2nd have plenty power to drive  these phones without portable amp.
But with portable amp , I can hear more detailed sound. IMHO

I am genuinely curious as to why Fiio has such a difficult time with the 5,000 song limit for meta-tags.    Is there something with the coding?  Something similar to the Y2K bug? They were able to fix the problem for the original x3 and then it came back to both the x1 and the x3 gen2?  As someone that is getting into web coding, it would be interesting to hear from a Fiio dev with a technical answer to why it's so difficult to overcome.

I've just taken ownership of the new X3 gen 2 and couldn't be happier. As an owner of the X1 I didn't think the sound could be more open but was proven wrong with the X3. One quick question though....how does the 'deep sleep ' function work. When turned off the player reboots slightly quicker than the X1 but it's not instantaneous like I think it should be. I can't find reference to it on their site

Well I have been jamming all night on my X3K/NX2 driving my MOE's and as nice as the X3ii is this amp really solidifies that open sound

Had to breakout the carbon as well
