1, It is renamed as X3 II, in fact, we will change the model no but the X3 keep the same. something like Audi keep A3,A6,A7,A8 .

2, the new X3 = X1 + USB DAC + bigger power output + Native DSD support + better DAC (CS4398), + Better Amp + coaxial output + 100 US$. btw, the new X3 is a little thicker than X1 and become full metal case.

    or   new X3 = Old X3 + Native DSD supports+ better DAC ( CS4398) + New UI and ID.

The mass production will be done in April and them launch global market.

James the CEO of Fiio said it was II and not K so I would go with that for now

you're trying to kill the suspence, but what could the CEO of FIIO know about the name of his own DAP? to quote some famous headfi threads, that's just his opinion.

aha ... sorry for asking too much .. but what is your current player or portable rig ? how it is compared to it (AK240 ) ?

No prob. Currently using NWZ-A15. AK240 is definitely better (refinement, texture, details, blacker background), but not >10x the price better (same can be said with most audio gears IMO)
Currently :JH13 FP, A-Jays 2 and Momentums,
Incoming : 1964 A12, Aurisonic Rockets and EarWerkz Supra
Sold : 1964 V6, FAD Heaven S, SE215, Xiaomi Pistons 2, V-Moda M100, HD700, iPod Nano 7G, Colorfly C3, FiiO X3, AK100, AK100MK2, AK240

Also (sorry for bothering you), what's your home rig and how does it compare to the AK240?  How much better (in percentage) is the AK240?  Thanks!

Sorry i didn't have a home rig (desktop DAC) at that time if that's what you mean't. Was only into portables, but will be getting into home-fi once i receive my Geek Pulse ∞.
Will give you a comparison then once i get it if the interest is still around

Oh.  I'd love to read a comparison when it arrives.  BTW, how much better in percentage is the AK240 compared to the NWZ-A15?  Thanks (again)!

Sorry, it's hard to give a percentage on that as everyone has different perception in their own rating (E.g what i hear as minimal increment, to some they hear some Godly other worldly plane of existent sound) . And as this would be based on my memory i wouldn't dare to do that either :p
Btw, sound preference do play a part too!

Anyway let's not get off topic before others rage :D

I'm assuming the X3 II only comes with 1 micro sd slot? With DSD native capability, having 2 slots would be nice..

But there's the X5 II for that.

Are there any details out on the X5 II yet? I don't really like the hardware control layout on the X3 II and X5.. the buttons are all over the place. I prefer them at the side next to each other for quick easy use.
I rather jump the X5 II and go for the X7 though
