Since getting a balanced amp I have been slowly converting all my headphones to balanced. The Q701 was the hardest, but it turned out quite good:

I agree with cCasper, that looks like it belongs there.

Meet the newest mutt in the litter. My Beyer DT770 Premium with Audio Technica W5000 drivers and Denon D2000 pads (Thanks for the pads Folex). Sounding pretty good with some akasa dampening on the inside and totally closed off baffles.

Just some high grit sanding so the paint has something to grab to (like 600 grit sandpaper is fine, or even a 3M scuff pad) and then I used some automotive touch up paint on the red rings. It is glossy as is, I didn't use clear coat on those, but I normally do. I put about 4 coats on with 15 mins between each coat.

Just joined head-fi to say this. I got my headphones from Casper yesterday, and they are fantastic! You can really tell he takes his time and really cares about the quality of his work! Thanks Casper for a great set of cans! :D

If you're looking for an amp/dac to connect to the USB port of your laptop, check out the FiiO E10K. I use that in combination with a Grado SR325iS and It serves me welll.
