Wow, I have not heard the name Nakamichi in some thirty odd years. It used to be a very solid company making tape decks, pre-amps and power amps.

Nakamichi was acquired by Grande Holdings in 1998, a Chinese company based in Hong Kong, now known as Nimble Holdings. Arguably it hasn't been the same company since then.

It’s a shame Nakamichi went downhill from its former heights. I owned several of its cassette decks including the CR-7A, and also its notable FM table radio. Arguably, the finest cassette decks ever made.

If I was going to fake something I'd pick a name that meant something now, not a name that meant something in the 70's. These are widely available. I really don't care who made them as long as they work. Personally, I'd be very surprised if they aren't private labelled.

No retail box, no legal infos, free chinese email host, you won't be all that happy if they're all phosphore bronze instead of brass with gold flashing that'll wear off way faster than actual plating. Clearly counterfeit items.
