Both has great DACs but V40 has better camera, I sold my V40 last year to upgrade to Galaxy Note 10+ I love the Samsung but I miss so much the V40 especially the audio jack that I just ordered it again, good phone!

Thanks for that! Now I have to decide if it's worth upgrading from my V30 or not. The price is very tempting and I have had good luck ordering from B&H in the past.

FYI, Drop just listed the Violectric V280 headphone amp with a significant discount ($1199 vs $1700 list).

I own 2 Violectric amps (Lake People G109-A; and V281) and definitely recommend them. This amp is very powerful & does balanced output; it's basically a V281 sans preamp function.

that is true.

2 other key differences:

• to the best of my knowledge, the V280 does not come w/remote control (& relays for same)
• it also is not offered w/stepped pot...std pot is non-stepped Alps RK27

I have both remote & stepped pot on my V281 and value those things a lot. Then again, I didn't pay $1199, either.

Seems like it’s amp sales season. I am trying to decide whether to give the LP another shot or step it up to the V280. Although, I have seen some used V281’s come close to that price.

Yeah, throughout the net, most of Audiophile use v281, very rarely the v280 is being mentioned.
