The Deals DISCUSSION Thread (READ THE FIRST POST!!!)

Hmm.  I have found that the M80 are a bit tight for me after a while.  I don't know if it's just being spoiled by the DT-990, but even the UE6000 get a bit uncomfortable after a while now.  I thought the UE6000 would be my last portable for a while (M80s were a no-brainer for $30 from the Shack), but I've become less impressed by them over time, in part due to their bulk and how low they play without the ANC.  Think I've ruled out the DT1350 due to my long hair and the price difference, so really it's just a question of if the Amperior will get me the balance of comfort, performance, and portability that I'm trying to strike.

if you're worried about comfort, get a box wider than your head by an inch or two and leave headphones on it like a stand when you're not using it. Over time it'll stretch the headband and should have less clamp.

Yes, this.

If you've been coddled by something comfortable like a full sized open-backed AKG can, your ears and head will be in for a rude awakening, with one of these on-ear options. Even moreso if you wear glasses.

I even had trouble with the Urbanite on-ear, which I've read is far more comfortable than the Amperior and DT1350 that everyone loves.

Could be short term deals on on Sandisk SD cards to clear out stock but can't be good news for consumers in long run

Western Digital is to buy fellow storage supplier SanDisk for around $19bn.

The deal marks the largest consolidation in the storage market to date.
Western Digital said the deal will double its addressable market and expand its position in higher-growth segments, in particular non-volatile memory where SanDisk has a 27-year history. Western Digital said the deal will also allow it to vertically integrate into NAND "securing long-term access to solid state technology at lower cost".
"This transformational acquisition aligns with our long-term strategy to be an innovative leader in the storage industry by providing compelling, high-quality products with leading technology," said Western Digital CEO Steve Milligan.

Anyone know of any low-priced, just still decent sounding A/V Receivers?  I think my Onkyo finally kicked the bucket.  No frills really necessary, just needs to be easy to use for the missus

Last time I was in the market for one, I ended up getting a refurbished Harmon Kardon off their ebay store.  Came with full warranty so no risk just discount.  I haven't checked in a while so I don't know if they're still doing that but mine's still going strong many years later.
