Man, HD800 for $999, Massdrop UERM is $699, Shure 846 there as well, 1964ears has 20% off for Black Friday, need some resistance, fortitude, backbone, haven't seen so many good Black Friday deals in a few years now. I guess companies are feeling like people are ready to let go of some cash...
Boy, leaning towards trying my first ciem (still a virgin, and at my age :p )

Really depends on what you want sonically. Both companies have some good offerings. Only meet discounts get as low. Just make sure you get a good set of impressions made to save yourself a lot of time and headache.

I'm actually afraid that I'll get my ciem, and the fit will be as bad as many of the regular iems I get. I'm generally a hard fit, seem to have a mutant left ear canal. This is what has kept me from doing it until now...at least universals should not be too hard to get rid of if the fit doesn't work for me. I suspect the slightest bit off on the impressions makes all the difference between good and bad fit.

Guys, any amp/DAC deals for this Senn HD598?

Fiio E17 is down to $110 on Buysonic. I've found the HD 598 responds exceptionally well to the E17's bass and treble boosts.

So I have Beyer DT-990, any particular reason I should jump on the Senn 598?  Also, looking for a Fiio E09K to pair with my E17, but haven't seen anything yet this BF.  Did I miss anything?

I have both. The 990 and 598 couldn't be more different. So, if you're looking for something that's basically the opposite of what you have, there you go!

598: mid-forward, mellow, relaxing, balanced

990: v-shaped, rocking, exciting

I'm selling a Ragnarok.... :)

Or, one of the FiiOs on BuySonic or something MassDrop has up would work.  It's not a difficult to drive HP.

The setup you are selling is incredible! I wish I could afford to take that off your hands!

pretty much everything will drive an hd 598. I found no significant difference with the e17 amping it. It will sound great out of an ipod.

It's not about headphones, but Target has an iPad Mini 2 with retina display for $299 with $100 store gift card. It's a very good deal for someone looking for a new tablet.

You're better to check a stock availability on their website before making a ride
