There is a reason why the price is dropping like mad. That market is just far too competitive for the Amperior to be in and product that replaced it is a much better solution. Had mine for a month before I decided to get rid of them.

Yeah, I bought about 6 headphones during the black friday / xmas sales bonanza and the only one I returned were the Amperiors. Seeing all the hoopla every time they go on sale makes me want to buy them again to see what I missed. lol But seriously, I thought they were uncomfortable, first off. I thought they were also sibilant.

Still, glad they have lots of followers.

Interesting how we all hear differently...I bought a number of on ear and over ear this past shopping season as well, really like the Amperiors, as much or more than the others.

Have to read your thread, maybe you got better ones to compare it to. Gotta go to work not, have to check here first, be sure I'm not missing $500 HD800's or something like that.

I really really enjoy my Amperiors, the only issue I have with them is that they're on ear, not over ear. They're not quite as good as my Momentums (Over Ear) or HD600s, but they're certainly very good, and an excellent pair for the $120-130 range, as well as very durable and great for carrying and using at school.

I have the UE6000 and M-80.  Any thoughts on how the Amperior compares to those two portables?  A/B'd them with the UE-6000 at the Apple store a while back, and remember liking the Amperior a little more in terms of sound quality, but the UE6000 more in terms of comfort.

I mentioned this to another head-fier, but I've also got the 6000s, and yeah, the Amperiors were better in pretty much every aspect, except maybe the Amperiors being slightly sibilant, though the 6000s were much more comfortable for me.

Kinda close for at least one M-80 vs Amperiors(HD25 1-ii, amperiors but w/ plastic shell). LINK. Also, joker does a similar comparison joker (Do a search for A17). Hope that helps. :)

Sennheiser is giving a free DAC with every eligible wireless headphone purchase in the month of February. Simply mail in this rebate with the required documents and you'll get a DAC free by mail.

Eligible wireless systems: RS 120, RS 160, RS 170, RS 180, SET 830/-S, SET 840/-S, SET 900, IS 410

They don't specify which DAC so it may not be a killer deal, but it's something.
