The Sennheiser HD 800 is on sale for only $1099 brand new at Fumfie.com. They appear to be 100% legit, carrying a high rating (see here: http://www.shopperapproved.com/reviews/fumfie.com/ ). They also have a retail store in Rockaway Park, NY and can be reached at +1 866 666-9198.

The Amperiors are the headphones NBA announcers wear, last week I was looking at them and thinking I bet they can't wait to take them off at the end of the game. But it probably has a great seal if they use in that environment.

lol, that's what i was thinking every time I've seen a game in the last decade.

Anyone know whats up with the recent price drop of Sennheiser's HD6x0 line? Its the first time I've seen the HD650 go for under $300 on Amazon.

The HD650 has been hovering around $300 since Black Friday.

The Hifiman HE 560 $99 off retail at Buysonic:

That's not much of a deal on the HE-560, particularly given Buysonic's return policy. Might as well wait for B-stock units from Razordog Audio which pop up pretty often at around $700 or so.

Yeah as cizx pointed out, Fumfie is not an authorized Senn dealer. Plus I doubt they're actually 100% legit when WOT* turns orange on their site, and ResellerRatings has a low score for them:

I disagree.

I would never ever rely on Reseller Ratings since it is more of an ignorant complainer's soapbox than an honest review of a site's reputation. That is why I highly recommend Shopper Approved over Reseller Ratings for getting the scoop on sellers without the static of angry, buyer's remorse grieved customers ranting and complaining.

By Reseller Ratings standards, Amazon.com and Newegg Flash would be no go places for buyers. That is just how useless and out of control the rating system has gotten there.

http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Amazon (has a 6.40 out of 10.0 rating)
http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Newegg_Flash (has a 0.01 out of 10.0 rating!)

I suggest someone call or visit the place if they have any worries. Additionally, Fumfie may be listed with a different ID on Sennheiser's retailer directory, which could be cleared up with a simple phone call.

From Fumfie's website:

"The Sennheiser HD 800 stereo headphones provide professional-quality audio in a comfortable design. These open-back headphones use large dynamic transducers encased by precision-made stainless steel housings to provide a natural listening experience. The padded metal headband and thick around-ear cushions provide long-lasting comfort, to keep you listening for hours. The specially-tuned impedance-matching cable has a low capacitance, and the gold-plated 1/4\" plug provides a clear signal path and is resistant to corrosion. The headphones are hand-assembled in Germany and include a 2-year warranty.

This product comes with a 1 year limited warranty."

They come with a 1 year warranty , and not 2, so something is off... don't know what.

Well, I've never seen new units selling for less anywhere else, but yah, $99 isn't a crazy amount

For those who want $99 off on a planar magnetic headphone, the B-stock closed & open Audeze EL-8s at HeadRoom are a better deal.
