They seriously need to update the paint job on the 600's imo. I mean come on, plastic marble effect paint...really? Its like all the worst aspects of the 80's rolled into one. All they need is shoulder pads and to be divorced from Elizabeth Taylor to have the full hand

Never knew people hated the HD600's design, I always though it looked unique.
I honestly don't know what Head-Fi people consider as "good looking" headphones.
It seems like all you guys like is either all black or all wood.

I'm extra amused when people say "the HE-1000 is super ugly, I'm not getting it!".  It's literally the best headphone I've ever heard.  Who gives a flying **** what it looks like?  It's not designed to look good, it's designed to SOUND good.  lol

I think everything that holds a premium price tag has a responsibility to not just sound great but also nod the head to sound design principles. Metal, wood etc are always considered the most premium quality materials with plastic masquerading as marble being about as low as it can get imo. Sennheiser need to step up and consider all aspects of the design. They get away with it because they sound fantastic. The new urbanite range have finally cottoned on to the fact that style also needs to play a role in great design imo.

I would much rather pay less money for a mid-priced headphone if it means I don't get wood. Just 1 mans opinion.

No it's just hard to get non audiophiles to take you seriously when your lording the qualities of something which looks like it should have had a bit part in Dallas
Again, why does it matter what they think? Why does justifying your hobby to normies matter to you? Who are you trying to convince? We accept you as you are. :D

Look at the HE-10000, it looks like they made a themed headphone for Lord Zedd! But find me one person on this board who wouldn't accept one if it was gifted to them.

Sounds good to me, are we saying WASAPI or ASIO is better. Got Asio going on fidelity and it is noticeably better than direct. What about wasapi?

Never got ASIO to work properly with my gear, don't plan on troubleshooting it either so I'm strictly WASAPI. It's definitely better than direct sound and Spotify's default player. You can A/B by opening up both and having the Spotify player in Offline mode, you'll have to pause the one before the other because of the exclusive mode WASAPI and ASIO has over the sound driver.

Let me direct you to here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/640619/fidelify-spotify-with-asio-wasapi-and-vst-plugins-support

LOL... I thought they were cheesy looking when they first came out!

I always liked the look of the HD580 a lot better. Even though the plastic grille on these was supposedly bettered by the metal grilles of the 600 and 650, I always thought they looked really neat.

And even the font that said HD580 on the headphones had cool round lines to it that made it feel kind of Art Deco.

Despite the improvement in sound, I always thought the visual design of the 600 was a step backward. But some people love that look!
